[The Riot Act Has Been Read To The Honorable Minister]

The minister was right to have stormed out; so also the students were right to have poured out their anger.

The video portraying the minister of education Adamu Adamu storming out of a meeting session with the NANS delegates has gone viral.

The Minister's singular act has constellated reactions from the incensed Nigerians, some said, for the minister to walk out on the student delegates shows he is unfit for that position and as such he should resign. Some said, for the minister to walk out on the disgruntled student delegates illustrates his level of immaturity. Amidst this, the enraged NANS(national association of Nigeria students)president was also chided for his assertive, immatured, ill-prepared and accusatively composed declamations.

I cease to be nonexistent where my Ogas at the top exits, notwithstanding I have to sound off my opinion.

Both the Minister and the NANS President did the right thing, they are not to be blamed for their actions.

Let's focus the camera on the Honorable minister of education in person of Adamu Adamu. The stunt he pulled there was confusingly tactical he didn't except such from the delegates, the aggression, the chiding, and the allegation all came as a shock. Maybe before he went for the meeting he would have thought, "let me go pacify them, besides they are just students," they shocked him.

The aggression, chiding and allegation leveled against the minister really infuriated him, it was as if the meeting was all about him. He was accused of sending his children to school abroad leaving the citizens at the mercy of the decayed educational system.

The French say noblesse oblige, i.e.,

people who are privileged to be in a high

rank have an obligation to be honorable

restrained, and generous.

To be restrained... Means to control one's anger. And one of the tactics of managing/controlling anger is to restrain from speaking, and moving away from one's source of anger. As Ambrose Bierce puts it "Speak when you are angry and

you'll make the best speech you'll ever

regret." Now I see why he had to walk out.

It's translucent that the accusation leveled against him by the NANS president provoked him. I believe the meeting would have morphed into a war of words where the minister would be forced to refute the NANS president's allegation. It's provoking to be talked to in such a manner especially from your subject that on a normal day would have paid arms and legs just to meet you.

I read an article written by Farooq Kperogi, titled, "False Photo of AdamuAdamu's Son's Graduation from a UK University." He explains that the effused NANS president mistook Minister Adamu Adamu for the NUC Executive Secretary Prof.

Abubakar Adamu Rasheed who rejoiced with his son who earned a PhD in

Engineering from the University of

Aberdeen in the UK in November 2017. That none of the minister's children schooled abroad. [Check the comment section for the link to the article and Also the image]

Don't chastise me, I only quoted what I read, if you're doubtful of his findings you can conduct yours. The bottom line is: if it were a false allegation, that would definitely be annoying.

Lets focus the camera on the NANS president in person of Mr. Sunday Asefon. Mr Asefon did a nice job but it would have been preferable if he had spoken politely. But what do you expect an aggrieved student to do? Spending almost 2 years for an academic session is worth the anger . What do you expect a child to say to his incompetent father that doesn't care of his existence—not living up to his responsibility as a father. Should the child take it likely with him? Or extol him?.

In the words of Wayne Dyer: "There's nothing wrong with anger provided you use it constructively."

I think what Mr Asefon did was commendable, at least he used his anger constructively. They are really tired of the never ending strike, they lost a whole academic session for a 9 month strike and now another one. The ASUU claimed they are fighting for the well being of the students—for the revitalisation of public universities. I think there is more to it, it seems the students know only little of their[ASUU's] plan.

Hypothetically, Just like the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Russia recently launched an attack on Ukraine, and the attack was kicked against by many countries, which led to the economic sanction on Russia. The sanction would have a rebounding effect on the poor citizens of Russia. Funny enough, most of the citizens don't know exactly why their country waged war on Ukraine. That's the irony.

What happened on Monday reveals the fact that students are tired of being the proverbial grass but rather want to be among the fighting elephants. Since the battle is for the future of the students, it won't be wrong if they are involved in the negotiations.

Take my opinion with a pinch of salt; buy me a fish pie by reacting and sharing this post.
