I left Nigeria to France

And I slept under a bridge for 3 days

It was fun

I wasn't the only one

Different countries

We were being taken care of by the citizens

They gave us money, food, even a place to bath.

Before i left to my final destination.

Yes, but for one day. I missed the last bus going to my hostel at about 12am one winter like that, and taxi was hella expensive. The cost was about 250 euros (about 160k) to my house, which I don't have. Men I had to just look for a public chair and squeeze myself there till the next morning. It was hell. I was in the cold until 6am but it felt like six days. Every single second was an agony and the clock was so damn slow.

It was so freezing, and the first time I smoked. I just had to keep warm and bought a pack of cigarette, I tried to smoke one stick but I spit it out, it tasted so horrible. Just imagine if the country was not safe (Sweden), I might have been robbed or even worse. That day I learnt something, that having a shelter is wealth itself, and my compassion increased for homelessness.

I remember when we were kids, me and my sister were schooling at Henson Demonstration Group of School in Benin City.

We came home one day and saw our mum standing outside with our mattress, cooking pot, bed and tv including the coal-pot we used in cooking.

She said the landlord asked her to leave. That's not what even pained me the most, it was the fact that our dad had ran away from house since the landlord's son served us eviction notice

That period was very tough and I believe that was when I started olosho work on the low-key

No I've never been homeless in my life because programming is my only home. Joke aside eeh, homeless people dey try oooo. Sometimes i dey imagine wetin dem dey go through when rain dey fall for night. If me wey dey inside house dey complain for cold, wetin those wey dey outside go talk? I really wish I can change the situation of the world someday because this life no just fair for some people. Today I'm privileged to be a software engineer and I dey earn a living, but some people dey unfortunate not to go school or even get parents wey fit send them to school.
Today I dey here with good health but some people dey hospital dey gansh their teeth in pains and agony. O'Lord forgive me whenever I complain, for I'm blessed indeed, the world is mine!!!

WTF MAN!

What’s home? Well, I don’t think I have been homeless in my life but there has been some situation whereby I had nowhere to sleep.

First experience; so after uni and few months after service without anything, i decided to look for greener pasture but what I found wasn’t even a pasture not to mention a green one...... sometime we could be as much as 10 on the room, crammed together like whatever you can think of and aside all these, I have to wakeup early in the morning to walk about 30 minute journey to get site work and all that.........


Second one, when I got my first official job worthy job. Came to the town three days verification exercise and I knew handful of people that were either not around or stopped taking my calls after I had told them about my predicament...... after I left work that very faithful day, I had to look somewhere to sleep but unfortunately the mosque won’t even allow me to sleep over there cuz of security reason and I was unable to locate any church and the fact that it was late already.

Somehow I manage to locate a brothel and the first prostitute I met asked for 3k just to share her room with me. Even after I told her I was not interested in any ‘other business’ as I was weak, weak and I was a v at the time. Mind you, it’s was around 8:30pm

I only had 5k with me and I still had couple days to rely on that, I tried to haggle the price down to 2k but she said no. With no option, I went back to the road. On the road, I bought some alcohol and I had a pack of cig in my bag already. I light up the shit and drank beside the road, before I knew it, i tried one more time and I found another brothel.

The first prostitute I met there was nice and this should be around 9:20pm or so. I told her my problems and she told me the price for a room is 1k and signaled the manager to get the room ready for me.

Well, the room was more or less like a Nigeria police cell but at least I had a place to rest. Even with sufficient mosquitoes to feast on my blood, no light, no fan and the fact that the room actually is meant for something else.

I was gratefully.

Never the less I was unable to sleep cuz the bed is literally more of a wooden plank covered with some sort or foam or so. I had to return to the prostitute to get some w**d in exchange for some cigarettes..... we talk and I want back to my cell to continue smoking until it was 2am when I got tire after smoking everything available......
