I travelled when I was in my late teens to Belarus to study and play football, when I got there I registered in my university, after getting my permit the first thing I did was get a Dollar account that I was using to receive money to finance my studies. After spending 9months doing Pre-University degree, I discovered that the Economy and Government is still very communistic, I decided to leave the region after spending about 4 months in Moscow, Russia thinking it would be better. The interesting part is that you could use Belarus permit to tour CIS countries(former hardcore Soviet Republics), that's why Putin is crying foul. Knowing that its almost the same thing unless you are hard headed before you could survive in Russia, I got invitation to Finland and finally left for good. A lot of my friends and school mates left for Ukraine for a better life and with hope that they would someday join the EU.

That year during my return back to Naija, Finland didn't process student invitation for west Africans, irritated by the Nigerian situation, I packed my luggage off to Egypt to study and play football. Reaching there, I enrolled in a computer institute and trained as I quietly waited for a club. But tragedy struck, as my two friends who were into Football full-time with offers coming for them died young and mysteriously, I got depressed, hanged my boot to face Education squarely.

In Egypt I had an account in us dollars and Egyptian pounds. Man in any of these country I lived , documentation was always smooth for me. Until the Egyptians revolted against Mubarak and government was shut down totally. In that time I had secured admissions to study freely Computer Engineering in Sweden and with pay in Latvia and Psychology in Lithuania. I usually applied to different schools in Europe as my dream is to study in Europe and become a Lecturer like my uncle who has PHD from Germany and lectured there for a while.

Since I came back, I got sick and have been spending most of my time in the church. Now I am dusting my bags and wants to go back again. I have friends in major capitals of Europe like Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, Crotia but the ones I missed the most are those in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus because we lived as brethren, eat from the same plates and caring for each other. I pray they are safe. I know they are strong men and can even stand their ground.

I made great friends during my travels as I was helping in guiding them in following the right process of documentation . Although most got married to citizens of the nations since they were getting older which is what I missed. But no slacking this time.

As I plan my next move. I want to avoid being stranded and war ton regions. A General said that only the dead have seen the end of war". So by precaution.

1. I am roaming my Nigerian business line in case of necessity and emergency.
2. I have a domiciliary account in Nigeria, at least to save me from getting lost.
3. I have digitilized my businesses and internationalizing my skills by taken certification exams to be on par with my foreign host in technology and reforms.
4. When I get there, depending on the systems they have in place, if they don't adhere to international best practices, that's a red flag.

If you have tips for smooth landing and to scale through tough adaptation , kindly share.

This question is kinda stupid, its simple migrate to peaceful regions
For example Ukraine had nothing to offer even before the war, imagine moving to a country with the hope that it joins the EU..pathetic

I have a guy who studied in Ukraine and ended up back in Nigeria only for him to school with us again

I did kinda enjoy your story although It shows you're very desperate to he out of the country and you don't plan well before doing so

I feel you should sit back home, save up a lot..get a good job and hang that boot of desperation
Wait for the right time and apply for Canadas PR or go the education root although I'll advise the former but that probably means hanging up your boots forever because North America is no place for football dreams

Well, thanks. Its not that I am desperate. It just comes with my job as a sport man, missionary and IT personnel in the Internal Freight Forwarding Industry, sometimes I have no option than to travel for a while to a developed country with good infrastructure to earn and come back home because that is where the technology and policy is.
