Your Guide To The Best Mexican Food In Sacramento by Anniejackson(f): 10:21am On Mar 08, 2022
If you’re ever in the Sacramento, CA region and feel a rumbling in your stomach, it might be because you’re hungry, or it might be because you’re close to one amazing Mexican food palace! When we say that Sacramento is home to some of the best Mexican food, we aren’t joking around. However, navigating through our large selection of Mexican food can be tricky. There are so many places where you could try food only to find out it isn’t what you had in mind. Check this guide for an expository experience.

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are flour tortillas that have melted cheese inside them. Quesadillas can also have different meats and vegetables inside, depending on what type you order them with. Quesadillas are also a popular Mexican dish. Many restaurants also add other ingredients, such as chicken or beef, but cheese is always the main filling.

Burritos

Burritos are made with a flour tortilla that has been wrapped around a variety of different fillings such as refried beans, rice, lettuce, salsa, and other things. Burritos can be made with chicken, steak, or pork, and some places even make vegetarian burritos for people who don't eat meat. Burritos can be either soft or crisp, depending on how they are prepared. The filling is similar to what you might find in tacos or quesadillas but is rolled into a flour tortilla.

Enchiladas

They're essentially tortillas stuffed with meat, vegetables, and cheese, then fried until crispy. They're then topped with enchilada sauce before being served.

Tortilla

Tortilla is another famous Mexican food you can easily find in restaurants. It's a flatbread made from corn or wheat flour usually served with meats or vegetables.

Tostadas

A tostada is a fried corn tortilla covered with refried beans, shredded lettuce, meat or seafood, sour cream, cheese, and salsa. There are also vegetarian tostadas available at most restaurants.

Tacos

Many people have tried tacos, but they tend to be a little confused about what makes up a taco. There are many variations, but the basic taco has three components: corn or flour tortilla, meat, and toppings. The meat choices include al pastor (marinated pork), barbacoa (slow-cooked beef), chorizo (pork sausage), Lengua (beef tongue), tripa (beef intestine), and many others. The toppings are usually diced onion and cilantro, with lime wedges providing additional flavor. In addition, a wide variety of sauces are available for those who like things spicy! It's a simple dish — soft or hard tortilla with a filling of meat, cheese, or beans — but it's also endlessly adaptable with different fillings and adds-ons. And it's easy to eat on the go.

Carnitas

Carnitas are a pork dish originating from the state of Michoacán. They consist of pork or beef stewed or braised in a broth seasoned with bay leaves, oregano, salt, pepper, onion, and garlic until tender falling apart meat. The meat is then allowed to cool before being shredded by hand and served on a plate or in tacos, burritos, and other dishes.

Wrap Up

With all the Mexican food choices in Sacramento, it might seem tricky to find truly delectable delicacies. This makes the task of finding great places to eat even more difficult. However, it is never too late to learn about the local places and their specialties. Be sure to remember this guide for future endeavors.
