This bridge is not free. Igbos are paying for it. Chinese investors were told to build it with their money and mount toll gate for next 25 - 40 years. What a wicked country.

So I should start jumping up for a loan I'll pay at ridiculous rates for decades? Even unborn Igbo kids will pay for it and I should be happy?

To the kids saying railway is not free. Niger Republic bandits that travel on trains are only paying for train ride which is about 50% subsidized by Ministry of Transportation. They don't pay for building the railway.

Meanwhile Igbos will pay for transport to ply on the useless bridge and still pay extra for toll gate. If you're traveling with your car, you'll pay for car, buy fuel and still pay tollgate. Are you people daft or something?

FG's contribution to funding this bridge is about 60%. That said, if tolling will generate funds to maintain the bridge, so be it. Other selected federal dual carriage roads will be tolled as per the government's tolling policy which I believe is the right way to go.

For those not happy with the tolling of the 2nd Niger bridge, there is always the alternative to use the existing Niger bridge which is not tolled. This is the practice worldwide - to provide alternative routes so that people are not forced to take the tolled roads.

The transit port can aswell be in Warri or Port Harcourt or Calabar if not for Obasanjo's manipulation to close these function ports, and its for goods that is not being consumed in Southwest. You have a point there, but if you have ever slept on the Niger bridge just because you want to cross over less than 300m Bridge then you will understand why half bread is better than chin chin. Most People in this country will gladly pay tolls to ply good roads and avoid the stress of horrible road network and traffic. I'm not an APC fan but na only Witch go dey find something wrong for that 2nd Niger bridge about to be completed
