Peter and Daniel are both 14 years when the strange woman approached them as they were both eating biscuit, the strange woman was wearing a dark gown with so many jewelries that they were kinda startle.

"Do you guys want to know your future" she said in a creepy voice

Peter said yes with Daniel kind of shaking his head.
Ok little ones the creepy woman said as she reached out and hold Peter hand startling him

"Wow young man you have a bright future ahead of you, you will be very rich with all the success in this word" she smiled at Peter if that should be called one a kind of change in her face that shown her brown teeth.
She turned her attention on Daniel "your turn" she said reaching out to him and holding his reluctant hand, after a few minutes

"Poor poor child, your future is very bad, with nothing to write home about, you will be poor and wretched" she said dropping Daniel hand

She turned her gaze to peter with that thing called a smile as she said "beautiful child the sky is your limit" before walking away.

Peter and Daniel walked home, one very happy while the other one feeling like the world just drop from his feet.

After getting home Daniel started crying, there was nothing in his future he cried out loud and kept crying until his mom came home and confronted him in which he told her everything
"My son relax that is not your future, you do know you can change it and it's not sealed in cement" Said Daniel mum
Daniel looked at his mum trying hard to believe her but his mum have a point maybe if he changed his ways and start focusing on his school and taking life seriously maybe he won't be wretched in the future.

So from that day Daniel swore to be serious and more focus, he went from getting thirty something position out of 40 to getting 8th position out of 40 when he left secondary school.
He got into the university and graduated with honors, he tried getting a job but it wasn't easy so he focused on getting good skills he always have it at the back of his mind that that creepy woman said he will never make anything of his life and he planned to show her not that he will see her but he want to proof that he can change his fate.

And yes Daniel changed his fate and became very successful but it was never enough until he got his third house with numerous investments and money in fixed deposit for his future children that he felt satisfied that he can never be poor or wretched and it's took 20years to achieve, he was 34years old and very accomplished.

So when he got an invite to attend his secondary school reunion he felt compel to go afterall he was proud of his achievements.
So he went and there he was surprised when he met Peter who was looking so wretched, he was shocked was an understatement afterall Peter was always getting first position in secondary school so wtf happened to him.
So it's turns out that as that creepy woman prophesy inspired Daniel to change his ways and work hard, the same prophesy propelled Peter to take life easy and not work as hard or not at all because in his mind he was going to be very successful and his fate was already cemented so why should he bother.

And as both sat in the restaurant they both went to talk, they reflected on their life, Daniel worked hard to changed his ways and made sure he was successful even if when he was told when he was little he will never amount to anything while Peter the star student that was told he was going to be the future and very successful became lazy and feel his life was already settled didn't work hard or take his life serious and ended up broke and wretched.

My point of this writeup is that whatever anybody tell you about your life because of your present situation, only you have the power to change it and direct your life to the way you want.
