BornofGod108: You just made me laugh for minutes. I pity the kind bondage that you have been subjected to. If you want to dress the Bible way, put on skirt or long gown. Even our Lord Jesus didn't put on trousers. You just punish yourself with dogmas. Even your Pastor who taught you this dogmas is trying to correct it. BornofGod108: Says Mr Paul Rika!  Dressing has little to do with the Christian faith, we dress to cover and to appeal. So it must be balanced otherwise onlookers will take our faith for extremism. If those in our locality takes offense in the way we dress then we must make amendments not because it's mandatory but to save those who don't know that dressing has nothing to do with faith. But in places where dressing is not offensive then we just need to be moderate in style!

TruthinAction: THE APPROVED COSTLY JEWELRIES (Ornament of a Meek and Quiet Spirit). "But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a Meek and Quiet Spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price" (I Peter 3:4). In verse three of that chapter, Saint Peter revealed the needlessness and the emptiness of adorning ourselves with plaiting the hair (broided hair: Jerrycurling, wigs, attachments, perming and so on) and of wearing of gold (artificial jewelries: precious stones on our clothes, head ties, shoes; wrist chain watch, earrings, nose rings, wedding rings, rosary rings, necklace, tablets, pearls, beads and so on), or of putting on of apparel (Saint Paul called it "costly arrays", that's expensive clothing, ungodly laces, luxurious clothes and flamboyant head ties). Paul also forbad godly women from all these heathenish idolatry (1 Timothy 2:9). That is not the jewelries God wants us to adorn ourselves with. But God wants to adorn us with jewelries, I mean costly jewelries... I want to ask, what actually makes a woman glorious or beautiful? Hanging these idols on your body doesn't make you spiritually glorious, rather they turn you to be an enemy of God, proud, vain and dead! Peter and Paul were filled with the holy ghost, they were holy men, not carnal men, they gave that commandments by the leading of God and your Bishop is saying "it doesn't matter?" Hmmm. Holiness of heart is the only jewel women should seek for! The carnal beauty is death, but holy heart is life and peace. Sanctification of your heart from inbred depravity and evil desires should be your inmost desire and thirst! To wear earrings and necklace are not for Holiness women. Peter said "let it not be the outward adorning..." But rather "but let it be the hidden man of the heart", that is Christ Jesus. Christ in me, the hope of heaven. You can't have true Christ in your heart when these things are on your body. Get them off your body! Your body is the temple of God. The meek and quiet spirit is the spirit of Christ, it is the evidence that a man is transformed and renewed in love. It is Sanctification. Holy heart: no jewelries, no perming, no Jerry curling, no precious stones... Just be natural... Destroy those things or set them on fire. Holiness of heart is that hidden man of the heart. Christ is Holiness personified and when he comes within, the body must conform to his holy standard. |

So what happened at Exodus 33:4-6 never became a law otherwise the same God won't later make such things and used it to adorn His people: "’Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your naked body. I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck, and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was honey, olive oil and the finest flour. Isaiah 3:16-23 Was it before Moses that God said this or after Moses? Well God never condemned the use of jewelries here rather He is telling them that their pride will bring them down. Note that Isaiah lived centuries after Moses so if God actually condemned the use of jewelries the message would have been totally different from what you're reading here. It would have been a matter of disobedience to what God commanded them not to use but in this case the opening verse of what you quoted says: Jehovah says: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, Walking with their heads high, Flirting with their eyes, skipping along, Making a tinkling sound with their anklets, This shows that God is addressing them on the topic of being haughty and flirting not because they were putting on jewelries! |
