Okay people,I trust y'all having a great weekend.
So this just came up and I feel like taking some time off the usual stuff and share.
As kids back then growing up,some of us had strict parents especially strict daddies...dads who do not hesitate to raise the cane at the slightest mistake or misbehaviour. Kids had some nasty difficulties like putting on your slippers the right way, telling the time...
Okay let's get to it now, there was this particular evening,I was helping my dad at home with something I can't remember now and all of a sudden,he showed my his wristwatch and asked me to tell him the time! Ah! Mogbe,I thought within me! grin
Ok I looked at his analogue wristwatch and saw the "short hand" pointed almost at 4 and the "long hand" was straight pointed at 10. Well not actually knowing and since the long hand was pointing at 10, I simply said "10 minutes to 4" and lo and behold,he smiled and said "correct!"
I'm sure you guys understand..that 10 saved me cos if the "long hand" was pointing to say,9,I would've said 9 minutes to 4 instead of 15 minutes to 4 and it would have been "OLODO and slaps" that evening grin grin grin

Another day I after school,I followed my friends home and we took a different route that leads very opposite to the normal, safe routes home. I was alone and coming and it was a long lonely stretch with bush/trees by the sides. Today,it won't be safe for kids to walk such roads alone, not as though we didn't used to hear about "gbomo gbomo" then.
Again lo and behold,my dad's peageout car appeared in front of me ahead! Again,mo ti tun gbe o crossed my mind grin wetin I wan talk day I find come here! I said to myself, well, right now there's absolutely nothing I can do,let me just accept my fate.
Buick came along and as luck now would have it,he simply drove past without looking at small frightened me! grin
Mehn, was I happy!!! Old man must've been engrossed with so much thoughts definitely grin
Since that day,I always followed my sister on the normal route home.
Finally,I remember when I was in primary 3 and I'm sure,if I can recall now, that had to do with dirty uniforms and before I knew what was happening, about twelve of us were before the teacher's koboko,4 strokes each! Again, mogbe!!! grin
When you receive your 4strokes,you step aside. I noticed that about six pupils had already received their bulala and were rubbing the bulala painful area and it would soon get to my turn. So something just moved me to jejely, like James bond, quietly dissolve into the already "bulalaed" pupils while teacher was busy flogging the next in line and voila,I was free from koboko, just like that. The teacher or other pupils didn't notice!
I was lucky cos if the teacher had noticed, ahhhh,it would've been double bulala for me that day grin grin

So I'm sure we all had our little lucky escape times as kids, maybe with our parents or senior brothers and sisters, senior school students, class teachers, headmaster or principal.
Kindly please share.
Y'all have a blessed weekend.
Please pardon my grammar grin
