This guy came begging, crawling on the floor I should borrow him 5k and he will refund in less than 2 weeks. Going to 6 months now, he has been avoiding me. I lent him the money when I was working (contract job) and now I don't have a job again and in need of help to even survive until I find another job. More burden is my sick mother. The drugs I was supposed to buy for her since on Tuesday, I haven't been able to buy. Let me also say that I almost forgot about the money but now due to what I'm facing, I really need a refund of that money. It is not my fault. Economy is not smiling at me at all.

Now, the thing is, he is not even using a smart phone that I can snatch from him. If I go to his house to pick anything, I know he will certainly confront me which may lead to fight and nobody knows how it will end.

God forbid, let it not be another case of "one or two died over unpaid debt". After all, we have heard and read many times of such cases for amount less than N1000. I hope this is not a pending case

I need your advice which can avert that from making Nairaland front page.

Since your are a peace loving person please let it go...

Forgive him but do not forget

Just remove your mind from the person owing you and the amount he owes you and focus on getting a job and making ends meet.


Things will surely fall back in place for you

Imagine killing someone just because he owes 5k?

You won't like it.


One thing about forgive a debt even though it is hard to let go is that your debtor will never have a peace of mind and he/she cannot come for more...
