My Dad of Blessed memory was a builder and during holidays, me and my 2 brothers had to work on his building site as bricklayers laborers supplying the bricklayers steadily with ready mixed concrete in head pans balanced on our heads.

I remember us traveling on public transport from Lagos Mainland to Ikoyi early in the morning, working as laborers on the site at Ikoyi, getting paid daily by Dad and coming back home to the mainland by public transport at 5pm daily during school holidays. We were between 16 and 18 years old then and even though we washed the cement off our bodies before leaving site, we were still white with traces of cement by the time we got home but we were getting paid by Dad daily.

I think Dad was teaching us that there is dignity in labor and that we were not better than the people working as artisans, carpenters and laborers.

You are a real hardworking the sky will always be your limit. i am very sure one day it will be a story to tell when you start earning millions of naira. one day when your children sees this your picture definitely they will say there mother is not a lazy woman
