Nigeria is second to last.
At least we are good at being religious. Probably what has been saving us.

That is what's fuccking us up. People who don't do their due diligence or work hard are busy fasting and praying without working.
Righteousness2 and his group of scam artists are busy infusing fear and cashing out.

Instead of people to research and find solution the leave it to God. The same God who gave you brain to solve a problem.

The key to success is simple thank God for life and opportunity, then work as hard as if there is no God to save you.
All these speaking in tongues and praying 7 times a day will lead us no where.

Quite the opposite. Just imagine Nigeria without the moderating effect of spirituality

Look at all the good that is doing us. Are we not just a picture of perfect country.
We are fuccked. And the failures amongst us have used religion as their off ramp

Just imagine what total beasts people would have been without spirituality.
Yes, we are not that great, but we would have been worse without spirituality

He's just delusional. How does Nigeria fares where the majority of the citizens are religious compared with the countries topping the chart where there are many atheists and irreligious citizens?

The limiting effects of religion and belief in God, supernatural things, and prayers are glaring in Nigeria being a failed state.

So how does that translate to being saved? You think war is the only way we become unsafe? You don't think the poverty that is ravaging us demands reprieve?

Well, all those people you complain are being gullible because they are working to get to heaven, how many would have been cut-throats. Righteousness89 possibly would have been an armed robber.
Did you look at it from that angle?

Poverty is relative. Many in Nigeria are not poor at all. Also compared to who? Many countries around Nigeria can only dream of being half as rich

Statistics put 90 million people in Nigeria in poverty, you think 90 million is small? Can you live on 12k naira per month, which is the poverty line and in current circumstances even 30k minimum wage is nothing to write home about. I don't know why you are shying away from the reality, our country is in dire straits and our religiosity has not inched us closer to solution, we even seem to be getting worse as we get more conspicuously religious.

I really can't figure him out. I mean we can see all around us how our country continues to deteriorate. He is like all those people praising the god for saving a bible from a burnt out house.

The way religious people think can be ludicrous. I hope one day, many Nigerians will see religion as one of the major factors behind the poor state of development in Africa.

It puts a bar on a person's thinking faculty; and no people can solve life's myriads of problems efficiently and effectively when they can't think clearly.

Development and innovation start from the mind — a free (not enslaved) mind.

There are lies, then there are damned lies, before u get to statistics. Countries around Nigeria are struggling to enter Nigeria to hustle.

It would have deteriorated further but for spirituality. Do you know if the robber planning to rob your house got converted and instead is in church today joyously praising God

Witchcraft, karma, geomancy, palmistry, astrology, soul awakening, numerology, name analysis, colourology, transmigration, vegetarianism etc are elements and part of spirituality. Note no central deity or gods. Its more of mysticism and occult experimentation. No dogmas and indoctrination but a system of practical knowledge.

Yes like those ones that raped and murdered a lady inside a church or the ones that kidnapped people from inside church or the ones that bombed churches.

I think it's more that the African has an almost ingrained conservatism. Innovation is not a word the average African wants to put into practice and religion ties in with that so strongly.
