John Mikel Obi gets idolized by having a banner in his name placed in Stamford Bridge which is the home stadium to Chelsea Football Club where he played from 2006 to 2017. In 2006, he made a controversial transfer to English club Chelsea after Manchester United claimed they had already signed him. He stayed with Chelsea for 11 years, before moving to China with Tianjin TEDA in 2017. He had a total of 372 appearances in all competitions while scoring six (6) goals for Chelsea FC. He was able to win nine (9) major trophies at his time in Stamford Bridge.
