In the long run they may stop Russia but for the most part they are intended to make it much harder for Putin to carry out his agenda...

Russia is asking China for military assistance when it has only committed about 10% of its forces to the Ukraine...That suggests that the Russian military is not effective..sanctions make it harder for Russia to acquire the means of war and to pay for the war it is waging...

Most sanctions targeted towards Russia are economic sanctions meaning they are meant to slow down the pace of the Russian economy...There are also other sanctions in place aimed at Russian oligarchs with the primary goal of forcing Putin to withdraw troops from Ukraine...An additional set of sanctions include limiting the exports of technological components Russia will need for the production of military and manufactured products...
To sum it up sanctions are a weapon used to cripple the Russian economy...
So it's left for Putin to end it if he wants...

Anyone who thinks that these sanctions are not affecting russian economy is deluded. They may feel they recovered but in the long run they will suffer it.

I will not put it that way!

The sanctions has reduced the intensity and the direction of the war in Ukraine.
It is now accepted as been a Russian Ukraine problem to solve

Although it has opened other problems in other areas such as europe.i believe that issue is also been resolved despites sanctions

Dollars is not the question but the supply of gas and oil on the open market is now the main issues.

So economic collapse of Europe is not an incentive!
