The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has cleared the air about the rumour That his church members has got mandate to support one candidate or political party.

The 80-year-old preacher said this at a sermon during thy first Sunday of the month service which they streamed live on Youtube on April 3, 2022..

Pastor Adeboye cleared the issue saying that he's not a politician and he's not going to ever be. He said

“Some people have started writing all manners of article about instructions, they said we have passed it to all members of RCCG," he said

“you all that attend di Redeem Church will bear me witness that I did not tell you who you will vote for. Whether in secret or in open, Never!

“I didn't say this is the party you are supposed to belong to. I never said that and I will not ever say it

“Because in Redeemed Christian Church of God every party is heavily represented. The only reason I don't vote is because, if i vote for anyone, I will be unjust to the rest of my children. I am the father of all and I like it that way.”

Even as he denied the rumours, Pastor Adeboye said as a Nigerian, you have a duty to participate, vote and be voted for.

He asked his church members that they should not sit down and fold their hands and refuse to vote and begin to complain about the government.

“What do you people do when they vote? People come and select for you a government they choose for you because you decided not to do anything.”

"I know that the people who carry the fake news just want to distract my attention and I will not ever stop to do my duty which is be prayers."
