Let her go because she can not change than to pretend as if she has changed

Omo this guy will regret his actions if he ever date this type of a girl. One thing I realised about life lately is that they are some people that are never fit for relationship talk less of marriage. For the sanity of anybody stay away from toxic people. You can play with them, gist and do things with them but never take it down to relationship level. This life is short but you will realise it's not when you get entangled to the wrong person or marry one. Long term suffering.

What's funny is that Mr. Lover boy thinks he can "support her to change", even when in the real sense she's obviously not ready to dump these baggage.

People fail to realise that the only way you can really help someone turn a new leaf is if they themselves have acknowledged that they have a problem and need help.

And even when they do acknowledge they need help, they should seek therapy or counseling from professionals.
There's a reason why therapists are professionals.

I hope he doesn't lose himself or eventually breakdown in this journey of support, though.

Some men are the architect of their own misfortunes. I wonder why they still find single mothers
sexually attractive. Single mothers are for the streets, you don't take them serious.

Americans are the most drugged populations on the planet. About seven in ten Americans takes prescriptive drugs, with anti-depressant being the second most used (after Diabetes). Having said that, you can't love someone enough to change them, unless they want to change themselves.

Talk about someone being an architect of his own problem. Lots of single promising ladies with no baby daddy issues and stable mental health and he is carried away with feelings and beauty, something that fades. I sometimes imagine why some people invite problem into their lives.

This one will take on the baggage, break his neck and start regretting later on ( that's if he even survives).

He should avoid baggages.

Some men would see devil, or Satan with his horns, walking along the road, and invite him inside, to come and have dinner.

1. What baggage(s) in particular is the gal supposed to dump abeg? undecided

I read the whole and I saw a girl with problems to deal with but not necessarily baggage, so care to enlighten me as to what exactly her "baggage" is here so I can maybe see what you see please? undecided

2. May I also ask what exactly Mr. Lover boy is supposedly trying here to "help" the girl turn a new leaf on? I mean why does dating a person have to mean changing that person or believing there is a problem to be fixed in such a one? undecided

If you want to know first hand who a person with baggage is, then try dating someone who smashes your phone for no reason.

Thank you.

I have been in such relationship myself but didn't walk away believing the one had baggage since I accept I may have lit the person's fuse in that case. undecided

So in your assessment, a person who breaks your phone is automatically one who has baggage? That explains why I didn't understand your response. undecided

Sorry about your previous relationship.
But IMHO, the said babe is toxic.

She could be doing drugs or even hiding a mental issue which is why she doesn't approve of her lover touching her stuff.(Personally, I don't see how it's a crime to touch a lover's bag).

She has moodswings and is prone to go violent at the slightest provocation. The other time it was Uncle's phone. The next time she'd be replacing his T.V set, and then it'd be his coconut head next.

Let's even forget about her ex at this point- it's not easy to totally end communication with an ex, not to talk of one you share a child with. BUT.. Not a man who used to harass and beat you up nau..

This girl needs help and the young man is no professional- Helping at this point is akin to a Lawyer doing a Doctor's job.

1. According to Lover boy, what he saw looked like a prescription which may have, yes, been for treatment of issue. Why assume she abuses drugs from that? undecided

2. Is it a sin to be on treatment for a mental illness? There are millions of individuals out there who struggle with one mental illness or another and are getting treatment from professionals for it. Are they not allowed to date freely or something? undecided

3. Let's assume then that mental illness is the problem here and she is currently getting help for the problem evidenced say by the prescriptions - which lover boy didn't see well but felt it was his place to inform another of - why is she being labeled one who has baggage then? undecided

It is not a crime, but hiding it from a supposed lover is the problem. While it is okay to not want people in on your health problems, when someone(in this case, a lover) stumbles on a prescription, you give them an explanation, not some bickering about "privacy" as if it was contraband you were hiding.

And again, I said IMO.
You don't have to share my sentiment.

1. Hiding it in what way? Do you expect a person struggling with mental illness to wear a banner across there chest announcing it to every potential date? undecided

Lover boy didn't even mention that he honestly inquired as to her history so why assume she hid something from him in that case? undecided

2. For Pete's sake, Lover boy didn't even say he asked about the prescription. You and I don't know the tone he may have approached her with for her to have respond exactly the way she did. undecided

Personally, I don't have a problem telling folks of my medical and mental issues as an individual but we all know how Nigerians tend to be all judgemental feigning understanding of the problem when ignorance and arrogance is what they really bring to the discussion. undecided

She likely has bipolar syndrome..
I don't have any idea what he should do with the relationship. However in a place where people legally own and use guns and with a history of mood disorders!

Let him choose his werey carefully abeg
