I noticed this occurrence but I might be wrong. I went into the maternity ward of a hospital recently - of the 8 babies delivered within 24 hours, 5 of them were pre-term (less than 33 weeks). Why do I get the feeling that things have changed nowadays but health wise and environmentally. I would like to hear the views of doctors, nurses, scientists and mature minded persons on this. Thanks

Because in the past, very few preterm babies would survive. Decades ago, a baby born preterm at 6 months would have been just another 'miscarriage'.
