You are very right when you said continual indulgence in sin makes you forget you're sinning when you commit the sin again cry

The heart becomes seared and the voice of the conscience quietens.

May we never get to that stage.

There is nothing magically about this, it's the process of habit formation. Do something several times over and over again and your brain learns it so that it seemingly becomes a part of you. I learnt how to write my 1s, 7s and 9s in a unique way by this method. You can do it for anything that requires repetition, it has nothing to do with hearts or consciences or them becoming seared. Even the fact that a particular smell becomes less notice the more you smell it is because your brain is now used to it and has pushed it back to make room for more conscious processes.

For some of you the demystification of natural processes seems to be an affront to your beliefs but for me it reveals the beauty and depth of the natural world, giving me a lot to be amazed by.

I never called it magic or mystification grin

The Bible talks about a seared conscience. I based my teaching on that.

Thanks for engaging.

Never said you did. However the source material you are quoting does seem to suggest that it is mystical.
