My elder sister is one of them n she got kicked out again after enduring for years, fasting and praying for the man to change, endured labor pains alone and almost died when she was beaten by the husband during her 3rd trimester and the innocent baby died in her womb.
I cried with her them I was small, when she ran back to us and my elder ones wanted to make the said husband pay for his atrocities and equally begin process of divorce, we contacted human right groups and lawyers and was about to rest the man, my religious fanatic sister started making excuses again for the husband and how catholic church is against divorce.
Everyone got disappointed and left her to her fate.
13yrs after, she got kicked out again after enduring numerous beating and maltreatment and this time, I don't think she is going back.
When I heard the news, I simply wished her well. I hope her religion will take care of her now.
With my sisters experience, I don't pity those abused women that refuse to save themselves because of religion.
