We can spend the whole day talking about marginalisation, and the failures and incompetence of the Nigerian state, but what is the way out? What are the solutions?

In trying to find solutions, my brothers and sisters from the southeastern part of Nigeria must look at the bigger picture and draw lessons from history.

It should be very obvious to any discerning mind by now that there are no short-cuts to fixing the Nigerian state.

Twice our people tried to prove to be smarter and over-progressive than the rest of Nigeria by trying to do a quick fix to the problems of Nigeria, twice we got our fingers seriously burnt.

The first Nigeria coup, led by mostly solders from the old eastern Nigeria, was an attempt to do a quick fix. It failed, thousands of our people were killed and we set ourselves back economically and socially. With benefit of hind-sight, I'm sure those Igbo officers behind the failed coup would have towed a more conservative path.

Then the Nigeria civil war, when the old Eastern Nigeria tried to break away. Again, it failed and millions of our people were killed for nothing. Again, we set ourselves further back economically and socially. With benefits from hind-sight, I'm sure the great Ojukwu would have followed a more conciliatory approach.

The grievances are always genuine and real, but the methodology of addressing those grievances is where the problem is.

Currently, we are faced with the IPOB and ESN struggle in the Southeast. Another attempt at secession has degenerated to arms struggle with daily wanton destruction of lives and properties. Few years from now, the consequences of that will be clear to see, but I doubt seriously if the results will be different.

Recall that before IPOB, there was the MASSOB struggle.

So when will Ndigbo learn? The failures of Nigeria is being felt all over Nigeria, not only in the Southeast. Whether you're in Oshogbo, Daura, Awka, Bayelsa, Kafanchan, etc, the suffering is real. People from all the ethnic groups are feeling the heat.

And most importantly, there is neither a quick fix nor short-cut to solving the problems with Nigeria.

Any solutions that will endure and be successful must come through the existing structure of Nigeria, albeit faulty.

How about we gradually fix our respective home lands? Gradually fight to enthrone quality leadership in our states. Elect people to the national assembly that will champion the course for restructuring of Nigeria, equity and fairness. We can work with like-minds in the Southwest and south-south on these issues and gradually gain the trust/support of other parts of Nigeria for full restructuring of Nigeria. That in my opinion is a better strategy.

From North East, to North West, to South/South to North Central to South East, one armed group of dissidents now exists

Rather than the above writter to ask himself why Nigeria has become one of the most insecure countries in the world, he is busy treating the South East as an isolated incident

Had Nigeria been anchored on justice, equity and fairness, most of these groups would not even exist.

The very problems that led to the civil war are very much with us, 50 years on. Rather than ask what is causing insecurity, they are busy asking why there is insecurity

I love peace, but even I know that peace can never be achieved on a mountain of injustice

When they abandon their skull mining dungeons and start claiming to be Igbos for the sake of writing long epistles of unity begging which makes no impact on any real Igbo man.

Illiterate bingos.. your ipob have threatened to ban cow meat and are about to make thousands of igbo traders selling beef in the market to loose their source of income while your killer squads will be unleashed on them.

I hope you and your family will start rearing cows to be supplying to igbos and also make it cheaper for them.

You said you have formed ESN to fight armed herdsmen but we are yet to see how many of them caught or even killed. It's only ipob that have are killing and suffering the same people they were meant to make lives easier for.

Oga, fellow Igbos are to blame if I must tell you! The fulanis are not igbo people's only problem.

The current wanton destruction going on in igbo land, are they being perpetrated by fulanis? Was it fulanis who burned down a man's sienna at holy ghost yesterdayin a bid to enforce sit at home? Can't you see you're losing the struggle? Your people now see you as terrorists and for good reason too.

Fifth columnists amongst you are cashing out on your emotional stakes!

How many Igbos did Ihejirika fix in the army as COAS?

How many Igbos did Soludo fix into the CBN?

How many Igbos has Ngige fixed into the federal jobs despite being the labour minister?

ESN was meant to be a strategic clandestine movement in the bushes, but for want of social media validation, y'all messed it all up! You think when fulani invaders came to my hometown we didn't deal with them? Today no fulani crosses into my town with cows, except they have a death wish. Did we come out to boast and beat our chests? No!

I'm not Igbo but I share your sentiments and I want you to know this; if Biafra would ever come, it won't be through the barrel of a gun!

So who is killing and destroying properties in Plateau State.

As we speak their is a mass burial of over 100 bodies.

Have you read anywhere in Southeast where there is Mass Burial?

Who are those bombing train and showing videos of their abductors?

The earlier you understand that nothing like One Nigeria the better for you.

If an Igbo man cannot become Army Chief, Navy Chief, Airforce, Custom etc.

Then One Nigeria is just a selfish agenda to subjugate other tribes.

You know, sometimes I wonder if the Igbos on this forum are truly Igbos as they claim. Although some of them are begining to step back from the aggressive support they used to give ipob, seeing that the group has morphed into an all consuming beast, others, majority, are still bent on towing that path of stupidity.

Look at how the sit at home campaign turned out. With the benefit of hindsight, I'm pretty sure they'd have done something different. Well, that is what I believe, but truth be told, given their reaction to my last comment over their statement on enforcement of ban on beef, I'm doubtful they'd ever learn from the past.

They embarked on sit at home, hailed its enforcement, and in the end, they're having their fingers thoroughly scorched, with some calling for the head of those those behind its enforcement. Now, they're excitedly welcoming the anouncement on beef by the same criminals! All because they feel a need to embrace ANYTHING that appears to hurt the government.

There's no gainsaying this as well will boomerang, and they'd be left with mostly undesirable repercussions. Then they'd start the process of regretting, and the whole cycle will repeat itself all over again!

Igbos don't learn.

Are there any current mass burials in delta state? Do we have Biafra there? Do we have ESN?

Was Ihejirika not an army chief of staff? Is he not igbo? What did he do to advance the igbo cause in the army?

Blame yourselves and selfish tribes people. Don't blame the system because you couldn't play the game to get the juices!

Nigeria has her problems, accepted. But burning down your region isn't it at all! You will create more enemies amongst your own people, and the movement will lose steam as its doing now.

So because Nigeria is having a fulani massacre problem, your solution to the problem is to add a problem of violence in Igboland?

Can someone please just make it make sense? undecided

How is addition of ESN/UGM violence against innocent people in the SE, a solution to the fulani massacre problem across Nigeria?

Sometimes I'm tempted to believe the notion that these people who make these posts here supporting the ESN/UGM violence in the east can never be Igbos. Cos how can a person who isnt a madman, set fire to his father's house simply because he's angry with his neighbour from a far awaay state? undecided

ESN is a minor problem compared to the above.

But you choose to ignore the main problem and keep shouting ESN/UGM grin

There is currently ongoing Burial of over 100s of people Massacred in Plateau, next week another set will be Buried and it keeps ongoing but you are masturbating about ESN UGM.

Is there any Massacre ever carried out by ESN?

Oga I ask again, are we in a competition to see who will kill their people the most?

If northerners are killing themselves, how exactly is the solution now for you to start killing Igbos in Igbo land and burning down collective structures? What is the wisdom in that?

Why exactly do you keep just repeating the same nonsense?... Northerners are killing northerners so therefore you should be left alone to kill Igbos and destroy Igbo properties in Igboland? Are you sure you're really okay mentally?

Ipob bingos are most senseless and useless group you will ever encounter.. they are the lowest of of lowest of igboland.. You can never see them make intelligent contributions on issues. they go to radio biafra and Biafran pages on Twitter and Facebook to listen to masters on what they should do . They can never think for theirselves.

So we should fold our hands and allow Fulanis to over run us in our homeland just as they are doing in Plateau State with mass burial daily.

Have you ever seen an Igbo man become Chief of Army Staff in the so called One Nigeria?

Have you ever seen Igbo man become Naval Chief in One Nigeria?

Have you seen Igbo man head of Custom in One Nigeria?

Just name any Key military position occupied by an Igbo man and you keep deceiving yourself of One Nigeria.

Apart from your first point, the rest you said are true.
In Imo State, there has never been a time when any nonsense fulani killers was disturbing us.
Never ever ever.
Our problems started when mnk brought his militant esn into Imo State.
What op is saying now is that, yes there are this existing problems as highlighted by you,but is bringing more destruction and unrest to compound this existing problems the solution?
I asked one of your ipob comrade to begin to mention what his leader mnk has done for Ndi Afara ukwu to make life a little bit comfortable for them?
What you can do is convince your fellow ipob brethren to troop out and elect leaders who will champion their course,Igbo is a democratic state and their is no plan to change status quo.
I will vote yes to have this country split up,but I would be a sabo if I support any group that continue to bring problems upon problems into Igboland

I know you are Imo State wannabe.
You said NEVER in history has Fulani Herdsmen attacked in Imo.

I will give you few links as reported by National Newspapers, which can be verified.

ESN was formed as a result of this killings, get your fact right.

If there where no Fulani Herdsmen killings in Southeast ESN would not suffice.

I know you are angry because is very difficult for herdmen to penetrate our farms at the moment grin

These are just few of Imo attacks by Fulani Herdsmen, I have not mentioned Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Anambra attacks.

Freedom fighters keeping their people in cage.
