President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky told the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen that Kiev needs seven billion dollars of financial assistance per month, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

Ukraine needs $7 billion a month in emergency financial assistance to cover social benefits and salaries, President Volodymyr Zelensky told European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen when she visited Kyiv last week.

Among other things, the Ukrainian leader shared with von der Leyen the problems that Ukraine faced when trying to export grain. In response, the head of the EC said that the EU will apply accelerated border crossing procedures to help Ukraine resolve the issue.
