Until you look beyond salary work in Nigeria, you can take care of your basic needs.........I used to struggle with 50k salary per month, funny enough, as huge as 50k sounds, it was never enough, I still borrow money to meet up with my transport fare before the month runs out..... until I joined affiliate marketing business where I simply sell other people's products and earn a 50% commission for each product I sell.... this was how I started earning a minimum of 150-200k every single week.

Now someone else thought me how to do this business free of charge because I wanted to change my financial status by all means......and am ready to also teach any one for free who wants to learn how to sell other people's products right inside your room using just your smart phone and internet connection......chat me up on WhatsApp.....08033639767

700K, Basic
If 700k is basic, as you put it. How much is the maximum? Considering you said "basic" it's like it fluctuates, or can be more.
No wonder you chose that moniker. As a madam, and a presido in your own right(level)
Some of you here , the thing follow una, even subconsciously, y'all feel accomplished n it reflects on the kind of nicknames...Lol ,hehe. We thank God, all the same.

Of course, why I said $, because that's the international légal tender and should be a basis.

Let me ask you: how do you feel when you are paid in Naira and a colleague of yours is paid in USD?

If you pay Software Engineer NGN350,000 and a foreign company pays him $2,000, is it not the same tool he is using for both jobs?

We need to fight the value system. Fact is people are underpaid in Nigeria.

The problem is your country’s exchange rate and bad economy. 350k Naira used to be over $2000 when dollar was N103 in 2013.

I’m telling you.. this issue of Nigerians hiding salary is archaic. Employers are shortchanging us knowing we don’t know our worth.

Chairman I'm not disputing that fact. Mine is it should rank up, simple.

Let's not go into this topic. We might derail the original topic. I know someone that works with a firm in Nigeria but services international companies and these companies pay in $ but the firm pays it's employees in Naira. Make we no enter that matter. E deep ooh.

It cannot because both economies are different, Nigeria itself cannot accommodate the amount of tech innovation in India because they have a larger demand, market and society that relies heavily on tech, I’m using India as an example because using the US is not even comparable.

When we have the infrastructure that can accommodate our technological needs (Fiber, Indigenous satellites systems, Electricity, Data centers), Demand will increase and prices as well wether in Naira or USD.

How many Nigerian firm deploy technology in service delivery? Only a few. Tech is cheap in Nigeria because our market is still developing.

We are on the same page brother. At least, let it commensurate to à reasonable measure.

What we lack in infrastructure, we cover up with brains. You didn't comment on the example I gave.

Away from the traditional recurring post of "how much was your first salary", let's go a bit unusual this time around. Most people are comfortable stating the low salary they received at the early stage of their career, I hope they will replicate same now.
The big question : "How much is your current salary?" and in case you are self employed, how much was most recent salary? Let's go.
Mine is 150k. Still managing and hoping for something better

2.5M but still managing.
