I am always wowed by the marvelous Brasilia architecture and so I thought it would be nice to compare 2 planned cities Brasilia Brazil and Abuja Nigeria.

The Brasilia architecture is awesome imagine having all federal ministries opposite each other and in the same location.

The Presidential Palace, the National Congress of Brazil, the foreign ministry, and the federal ministries are all close to each other, and those guys did a wonderful job.

Brasilia itself was built to look like a bird, it was supposed to be a cross but they changed it to be a bird and you can see the picture below when you look at it from above., so let's compare them.

Abuja, Nigeria. (started In 1980) Construction of Abuja began in the late 1970s, but due to the political and economic instability the country was facing at the time, the initial stages of the city were not completed until the mid-1980s. The Master Plan for the City and Capital Territory Federal was developed by International Planning Associates (IPA), a consortium of three American companies: Planejament Research Corporation; Wallace McHarg Roberts and Todd; and Archisystems - a division of the Hughes Organization. The master plan for Abuja defined the overall structure and key design elements of the city that are visible in its current form. The most detailed design of the central areas of the capital, particularly its monumental core, was carried out by Kenzo Tange, a renowned Japanese architect, with his team of urban planners.

The city is considered one of the most beautiful in Nigeria and has the best road network in the country. Modern Nigerian architecture is remarkable and has developed over rolling terrain. The city has a relatively high cost of living compared to other African cities. Abuja's skyline features several modern landmarks such as the Millennium Tower, Rock Aso, NNPC Towers, National Library, Millennium Park, National Mosque, Abuja Stadium, and Nigeria's Presidential Complex.

Brasília is the federal capital of Brazil and the seat of government of the Federal District. The capital is located in the Midwest region of the country, along the geographic region known as the Central Plateau. According to an estimate by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) for 2021, its population was 3 094 325 inhabitants (4 284 676 in its metropolitan area ), making it the third-most populous city in the country. Brasília is also the fifth most populous urban concentration in Brazil. The Brazilian capital is the largest city in the world built in the 20th century.

The city has the largest per capita gross domestic product in relation to capitals, the fourth largest among the main cities in Latin America, and about three times higher than the average Brazilian income. As the national capital, Brasília is home to the headquarters of the three powers of the Republic ( Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary ) and 127 foreign embassies. City planning policies, such as the location of residential buildings in large urban areas, the construction of huge avenues that cross the city, and their division into sectors, have provoked debates about the lifestyle in large cities in the 20th century. The city's project divides it into numbered blocks, in addition to sectors for predetermined activities, such as the Hotel Sector, Banking, or Embassies.
