Then you need help.
I swr to Christ almighty you are the one who needs help.
Nobody is forced to become abobaku.
It's a very ancient and sacred practice which can be traced to the reign of Egyptian Pharaohs.

I come from a royal family btw so I do not want it abolished

...and you don't think Alaafin could have been a twin then because he was from a powerful background where the law does not apply.

My point remains, Abobaku is a stupid tradition. It should be abolished.

I definitely thought about that initially when I discovered this fact, but then I know that the Yoruba's don't care about royalty before they apply the law.

An Oyo crown Prince was disciplined and whipped by a mere village chief for trying to sell a fellow Yoruba, Kings and princes were forced to commit ritual suicide when they break the common laws, and more popular that people don't mention for some reason: Two people dies with the Oyo king, The Abobaku and the crown Prince. That was a tradition they practised until the fall of Old Oyo and precisely when Adelu was king.

So I don't believe that the Alaafin was spared because he was a royal. There are other many more proofs that the Twins killing is actually a lie, but the story of the hunt will always glorify the hunter until lions learn how to write.

Totally accepted it should be and in fact it was abolished. People are just being sensationalistic by spreading the narratives.

I don't think it's stupid though. The people lived in a different reality from us, they act from that reality.

If you like, trace it to heaven.

Nobody is forced but why have the position? Why not change it to abobaye?

Your royalty has beclouded your judgment.

Abobaku is a stupid tradition. It makes no sense. It adds no value to the king or his kingdom.

At the boldened, you must have smoke Ewedu leaves before regurgitating that.

Oh ,so the East traditions discussed above means it's good.im talking about the very wicked traditions, both in the East and the West ,then suddenly, its name calling! So, you people on Nairaland don't like truth because truth is bitter abi! Then you hide under different monika to abuse and insults by leaving the subject matters- are those traditions good for the growth of our society?
The bobaku and that if a woman dies in some part of the East, she would not be allowed to share in the husband properties,So,by name callings now means you support this wicked traditions or what are you driving at?
For your information,my friend ,who is from your place in the East called two weeks ago and I drew his opinion on this matter!
He explained that he supported this tradition because woman should not be claiming from two places- her initial family and her husband place and I got stunned by a supposed elite who should know better and I challenged him because he has given his hear to a wicked traditions! Why I we like these in Nigeria? Must a White man come back to educate us that those things will not print money from Central Bank or takes us to the Moon!
Why can't we see tomorrow and walk to make it better? There might have been reasons why those traditions are like that at initial stage of developments in those towns or cities but should it remained like that forever because some people are greatly benefiting!
Guess who is in need of weeds now!
Blackman has a long way to go.
Truth has no further investigation!

Sacrificial deaths have been a part of life since the very beginning and it's in the Bible....don't know about the Koran but I'm sure it's there.
My judgement is perfectly intact yours is clouded by emotions.
The fact remains if that abobaku isn't buried soonest the whole of that state may be in turmoil
