Let me share the scenarios in public and private psychiatric facilities I have worked in

Some patients wake up on a bed in the Psychiatric ward, those who brought them drugged/sedated them before bringing them to avoid resistance.

Some conscious of the fact that they are headed to the Psychiatric facility, fights everyone in the vehicle conveying them reason it is advised to have able bodied men restraining them in the vehicle bringing them.

Some sane persons are mistakenly "captured" by some overzealous government social workers alongside mentally disordered persons when they do their routine taking those living on the streets struggling with mental health issues. They are all bundled into the wards, it is now left for the sane persons to prove their sanity by insisting they promptly see the Psychologist in order to run a mental status examination to prove their sanity, gbege if one is unfortunate to be picked over the weekend...na till Monday! Expect harassment from other patients, they snatch new patients' food, fighting between patients is a regular thing and nurses on duty are least bothered about what is going on.

Private facilities are more coordinated and humane in their approach, private rooms, good meals, timely medication, access to array of mental health professionals, better recreational facilities.......but expensive!

Ask to see the doctor, and ask for how to prove i am im sane. Do that and follow his instructions respectfully and even throw a joke around. You don't fight what you can't control
