Pls guys am sorry for posting it here, I did so because of the audience I hope to reach.

A friend of mine started business four months ago but he can't run the business smoothly due to lack of funds. He has even tried to apply for loan from banks but the amount he was offered by the bank is too small and he can't do anything with that amount.

The person that supplies him goods on credit stopped doing so because he also have a branch shop around where my friend's shop is situated but my friend's shop is more strategically located than his and the stuff is affecting his sales.

So he approached me to fund the business or in his own words , " put market in the shop and take me as your sales boy because I don't want to go back to village".

I told one of my friends about the proposal and the guy said that I should make it 50-50 deal for him not to feels cheated in the future because he is the person that will stay in the shop and hustle.

But I plan to make it me 70- him 30 since we are entering into partnership and I plan to renew the shop rent when it expires in 4 months time plus the place is almost empty with goods not worth more than 50k.

And I also plan to sign an agreement or MOU, so I brought this here for wider opinion and advice from people who have done something like this.

Nigerias are too greedy to submit themselves to the rules of partnership business, once the cash inflow increases, you two would start having problems relating to greed which would eventually tear you guys apart.

If you must run a business, do it alone, with your own funds.

This I have seen.

If you can help, kindly do. Don't leave a brother hanging. You don't know what the future holds. ensure you document everything and you guys sign an agreement.
Negotiate a decent sharing formula with him and also monitor, periodically, development in business.
I have done businesses with a friend before and it turned out right. @ falseprophet1
I would not suggest a long term relationship. Invest, recoup your investment over time and leave
Most importantly, hope he is trustworthy and reliable

I have entered into partnership business sometime in 2017 and its ended in premium tears. Just like someone said, nigerians are demn greedy. I brought in my lawyer, everything done and set, I fund the business because that's what the other partner lacks but in the end he started misbehaving when the money started flowing. Both my capital and the supposed interest gone. I activated the partnership agreement but trust Nigeria police na, they were demanding to prosecute the guy, I just said to myself, I don't have the luxury to waste another money. Na so matter end ooo.
Just pick the lesson from my story and advise ur self whether you want to do it or not.
