Christians should stop celebrating their BIRTHDAYS

Birthdays are a celebration of self.
Jesus talked about dying to self and preached against self love, self celebration and self preservation.
Satan worships self.
In the occult, One's own birthday is the highest "Holy" day on the satanic calender. The only two birthdays celebrated in the Bible were done by two ungodly men - Pharaoh and Herod.


WHAT JESUS PREACHED CONCERNING SELF -
1. Hate your life in this world and lose it for the sake of Jesus and the gospel (and you will gain eternal life). –

� _"If anyone comes to Me and does not hate..... his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple."_ ~ Luke 14:26 - 27

� _"...Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it."_ ~ Mark 8:34-35



2. Daily take up your cross and follow Jesus. –
� _"And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me."_

3. Love Jesus more than your family –
� _"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me."_ ~ Matthew 10:37

� _“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple."_ ~ Luke 14:26




3. Love Jesus more than yourself! – .

The question is -
> Why is that none of the patriarchs, prophets, disciples, Apostles and including Jesus celebrated their birthdays.?

*On Pharaoh's birthday*, he killed and sacrificed a prisoner. He cut off his head.

The Bible said -
*"Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants." ~ Genesis 40:20*

*On Herod's birthday* , he also killed and sacrificed a prisoner - John the Baptist. He also cut off his head.

And he went and beheaded him in prison,* ."_ ~ Mark 6:21,25,27



This two men are satanic worshippers and both of them did the same thing in the same pattern on their birthday.

His birthday was celebrated the day He was born but was not celebrated every year after that. His disciples did not celebrate their own birthdays annually like nowadays Christians even though the heathen in their own time are celebrating theirs.

Oga, there's no record of what you're saying so we can't really say. Secondly, there is no sin in celebrating the birth of yourself or even our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . When you celebrate you're doing it to the Glory of God and not to idols or any other depraved persons

My point is that u shld try to read n undstnd d bible before u copy n paste meaningless posts. The word "CELEBRATE" dosen't necessarily mean throwing a feast. When u wake up each day (not just on ur birthday) and thank God for keeping u alive n fr giving u d privilege of seeing another,you've already celebrated the new day. To ur reference of d bible saying a man must not love himself more than God,that dosen't mean dat d bible is saying they shouldn't celebrate birthdays. The same bible tells us that whatever we ought to do,dat we shld do it to the glory of God.
