Last week, I visited the Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta, for a health issue. In the emergency section, I saw various patients, some with life-threatening medical conditions and others who survived a ghastly road accident.

The sight was quite traumatizing, and I wonder how medical doctors and nurses cope as health care givers, who attend to and treat this kind of patients regularly.

As a medical practitioner, do you get traumatized when treating road accident victims (especially, the fatal ones), and if so, how do you cope and live a normal life?
