I can assure you that these illnesses were not as rampant in the olden days as they are today.
I know about half a dozen people around me that dealt with prostate cancer, all of them my Dads age mates. But not same with my grand pas agemates, who seem to have lived to walk with their walking sticks. The generation following them died without using the "walking sticks". Using this as a yardstick to analyze health realities around us in recent times, i can't help but think that Something triggered these. Not taking appropriate care of the treatment procedures is only a problem because we now have some sort of epidemic in these areas. The big question is; whatmare the major changes in our diets, that helped cause this. Fertilizer? Fast foods? Prepared foods? GM foods? Or is it even environmental changes?
Something is wrong somewhere..

They were rampant mind you (one former head of the Nigeria Police died of a heart attack several decades ago. Today, he would have been placed on antihypertensives and anti-lipids long before any serious damage to his heart, and if he added exercise and diet changes, he would have lived longer).

People in the good old days dropped dead or died of 'strange diseases' in the olden time...because they did not have access to good enough doctors, nurses or hospitals (even today) and because we did not have the tools we needed to detect heart disease , diabetes etc on time.

As an example, some of the meds we use for hypertension were discovered in the last 20-30 years. Prostate diagnosis has advanced in the last 40 years from a guy sticking his finger up the rear end to feel yer prostate to sophisticated scans, and a blood test that can detect changes in your prostate before it becomes serious, and then diabetes testing and meds have improved (we even have new diabetes meds in the last 10-15 years on line now)

Because of better detection, awareness and so forth, that's why your friends have their prostate issues diagnosed early. 50 years ago, they may not have been diagnosed until it was too too late to do much. The grandpas you saw may have been the ones who survived (and some may have had their prostates out early enough....benign prostatic hyperplasia presents by obstrucuting the urinary tract...and the op to remove it has been around for a while).


Finally, diet. 70 years ago, we did not eat too much sugar, salt or carbs, and most people walked, or farmed. Now, we live a sedentary lifestyle, and eat a unhealthy diet. Eating more fruits and veg, and exercising more may help us live longer and protect against prostate issues among other things.

Some of the beverages being imported into the country without proper checks. The customs once revealed that some frozen chickens imported into the country were preserved with the same chemicals used to preserve dead bodies in the mortuaries!!! Again,

You have many powerful countries very upset with Nigerias growing population, some of them going as far as starting dozens of NGOs to help curtail the population explosion in the country. You have beverages like coca cola and Pepsi. A little sprinkling of one chemical there and you can have your nuts burning for the rest of your life! Do you know why the Chinese have refused to lift all the restrictions imposed during the lockdown for COVID 19 uptill today? Because they strongly believe that the virus was a scheme being used to torpedo their economic growth through population dislocation.

Nigeria and spiritism, this man die a natural death, because he is a celebrity dat is why it feels it is the only person dying. Thousands of people of his age are dying everyday from manageable conditions because no good hospitals, no healthcare policies, no better diagnostic center etc in Nigeria. The stories has always been looking for money for treatment and the next thing is death. Many Nigerians are dying from this disease because no money to feed talk less of buying medications.
