5TOP SECRET TO SURVIVE PERILOUS TIME

It is no longer a news that we are in a perilous time as recorded in a Holy book(2 Timothy 3:1-5). Do you ever feel as if the world is spinning out of your control?. Is the price of commodities skyrocketing, or a pandemic that has a devastating effect on all sectors of the economy. The powerful financial institutions are deteriorating, and health care and college tuition fees are unaffordable. Our government is confused, and our judiciary finds it difficult to give a fair judgment. Our education system is collapsing and no one seems to care. Daily, the Christians in this country and around the world are subjected to severe hatred and hostility.

In recent times in Nigeria, hardly you can hear good news. It is either number of people who were kidnapped, killed or murdered in cold blood.

But as a Bible study Christian, you ought not to be surprised by the challenges the world is facing now, because these are expected during perilous times.

The question now is how you and I as Christians respond to these periods? Should we surrender with a white or green flag? Should we build a hole for the fox and jump in? ANSWER: NEITHER OF THESE!

The good news can be found in the book of Hebrews 13:5 where the Lord guaranteed our safety regardless of what happened and will happen around us. For He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

That means no matter how difficult life becomes no matter, how difficult it is to live in this wicked world the LORD’S presence will always be with us

5 Secret to surviving perilous time

WE MUST STAND FIRM ON GOD'S WORD.

In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus uncovered the secret to withstanding the perilous time. By standing firm and believing in the word of God is the secret to surviving hard times. It is important to know that standing firm means more than believing God's words, it means believing in it enough to build your whole life on it.
My dear Christians, we must STAND FIRM on the WORD OF GOD if we are to endure these PERILOUS TIMES! Read it! Study it! Think about it! It's true! And then, live it!

WE NEED TO BE CONSTANT IN OUR PRAYER (Philippian 4:6-7)

When we hear about all the terrible things that are happening in the world, one of the greatest temptations that Christians face is the temptation to feel apprehensive. But in verse 6 Apostle Paul is giving us an antidote for anxiety and worry. He's telling us - Don't be concerned! WORRY NOT! Fear not! Don't FRET! PRAY!!!!!!. And in verse 7 , the Apostle tells us what prayer will do for us. He says, through Christ Jesus, the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will GUARD your HEARTS and MINDS.
My dear brothers and sister in the Lord, it is a prayer that can connect us with the prince of peace, and the secret to surviving the perilous time is to stay persistent in our prayer

MUST STAY IN STEP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT (Galatians 5:16).

To stay in step or work with the holy spirit simply means we don't work in the ways to satisfy the flesh. In other words, walking with the spirit means choosing a lifestyle that pleases the Lord rather than pleases self(Gal.5:22-25). As a Christian, you and I can survive the perilous time when we partner with the Holy Spirit.

WE MUST DO AWAY WITH ANYTHING THAT IS WEIGHING US DOWN HEBREWS 12:1 a, b.

There is no doubt about it, that Christains of nowadays are on a rugged journey because this world is not our home we are just passing by to our eternal home. And the journey is not a bed of roses, we need to pass through the perilous terrain. We will walk through the Valley of the Shadow death not once, but perhaps several times. We will equally cross over some mountains along the way.

The Mountain of Health challenge ,the Mountain of Financial Difficulty and probably the Mountain of Relationship or unexpected career change and many more.

We don't need any more burdens to add to our already challenging journey through life. That is why we must set aside the additional burdens of self-destructive or sinful habits. Hostility, jealousy, resentment, and hatred are all harmful attitudes to have. The truth of the matter is that life is tough without carrying these burdens and to survive the perilous times we must do away with anything that can weigh us down .

WE MUST STAY FOCUSED ON JESUS CHRIST Hebrews 12: 1c, 2 1.

In the above Bible verse, the word fixed means glued. We as a Christian must keep our eyes glued on Jesus at all times( especially when we are facing challenges).
Peter sank when he lost focus and kept his eyes away from Jesus. As Christain we similarly face wind of change, almost every day, we hear the rumors of an approaching storms. These storms are Satanic gimmicks to distract us from Jesus and lose focus.

At this juncture, I would like to remind you of a
very important fact, the truth that the whole world seems out of control means that God has control over everything.

What we are experiencing now is exactly what Jesus foretold, The chaos, disorders, violence, terror, natural disasters, and false teachers had been predicted.
In conclusion, brethren, to survive the perilous time we must stand firm on the words of God, we must stay persistent in our prayers, we must partner with the Holy Spirit, we must do away with anything that can tighten us down and we must stay focused on Jesus Christ.

Shalom!!!!!!!
