The NFF announced on Sunday that they had settled for Jose Peseiro as the Super Eagles manager. While the new manager would not have much time before the qualifiers for AFCON 2023, there are certain aspects of the senior national team he has to sort out on the long term.

1) The goalkeeping crisis: Currently the Super Eagles lack an steady first choice goalkeeper. Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho and Daniel Akpeyi have all failed to take their chances to be the first choice goalkeeper. While Maduka Okoye and Francie Uzoho are relatively young and can still seize the first choice shirt in the future, Peseiro would need to find a first choice goalkeeper who can give the defence some confidence behind them and be a role model for the young goalkeepers in the team.
