I posted about the car last year or maybe 2020, I think it is time for us to change the engine even though the car runs fine but it consumes one hell of an OIL every month and requires servicing monthly which is becoming expensive.

Someone advised us to sell it but the pricing people are giving is kinda not worth it

How much will it take to change this engine and do we have a trust worthy mechanic that can do a solid engine work?

Bro let me not lie to you. Changing an engine is adventure. I have been a victim of engine change so that why I usually don't advice that. Anything that involves engine change my hand nor de.

There are people who are have been si lucky with engine change.

I like it when car still has the original Engine and gear that come with them from the manufacturer.

If you are prepared for the unforseen, cash spending and adventures that sometimes come with it then you can go on with it.

My experience with engine change is that the man whom I bought the engine from end up buying the car from me for a give away and chicken change less then the money I spent trying to change engine.

You are right though. Most so-called toks engine are rebuilt engine in naija. Trusted guys like Gazzuzz can get you original toks engine.

I think the reverse should be the case.
Getting a good engine should be the main challenge.
An engine swap can even be done using DIY tips.
My opinion though.

why don't you investigate what causes the oil drain.

default from the engine. I bought brand new generator. The same issue from the day I bought it. It short oil.

But thicker oil take longer to short unlike light oil.

It's a long story but to make it short, I am in a tight spot but happen to have access to 1,500 mtn or airtel.
