Preferring someone is different from actively enforcing that option on others especially if that option is not popular amongst the heavyweights and cannot guarantee victory for the party. Buhari himself went through Primaries so why should he dash the ticket of arguably Africa's biggest party to one aspirant?

Who will campaign for an unpopular candidate? It's easy to enforce a Party chairman but U need the structures of the Party leaders to install Nigeria's President. How do U get those leaders to support him when U have not been fair? People need to be realistic.
