The Holy Spirit is a person, not a thing. He is not simply an abstract force. He is a person who empowers the people of God for the Christian life. The translators of the King James Version chose to render parakletos with the English word “Comforter” because at that time the English language was more closely connected to its historical roots in Latin. Today, we understand the word comfort to mean ease & solace in the midst of trouble. But its original meaning was different. It is derived from the Latin word comfortis, which consisted of a prefix (com-, meaning “with) and a root (fortis, meaning “strong”). So, originally the word carried the meaning “with strength.” Therefore, the KJV translators were telling us that the Holy Spirit comes to the people of Christ not to heal their wounds after a battle but to strengthen them before & during a struggle. The idea is that the church operates not so much as a hospital but as an army, & the Holy Spirit comes to empower & strengthen Christians, to ensure victory or conquest.

According to JWs interpretation God's Holy Spirit is the active force of God. Though most Bible readers raised a lot of objections to this but one can just imagine how the one and only group that say the Holy Spirit is God's active force happens to be the one and only group actively:
©PREACHING and TEACHING just as Jesus Christ commanded! Matthew 28:19-20
©Have LOVE, JOY and PEACE {Galatians 5:22} permeating their gathering just as Jesus foretold! John 13:34-35; 15:12-13
©Orderly just as Jesus Christ said regarding his group! John 17:20-23
©Aren't involved in politics {John 6:15} racism {Matthew 12:46-50} and military services {Matthew 26:52} just has Jesus Christ taught and avoided these things!
©Don't promote the pursuit of riches just as Jesus Christ taught! Matthew 6:24-34
©Being the group most hated and vilified just as Jesus Christ said his true disciples will be ill-treated! Matthew 24:9
©Accused of being a cult just as Jesus Christ said regarding his group! Matthew 10:25
©Known globally as the world's best preaching and teaching group just as Jesus Christ said his true disciples will be known! Act 1:8

Perhaps this so called Holy Spirit just choose to be WORKING with the group that doesn't know him/her/it! Matthew 7:16-18; James 2:18-26 undecided
