So, for the past few days I've been researching ways to receive small payments from foreign clients, for freelance jobs.

I've realized how hostile a lot of services are (I'm looking at you payoneer) and how difficult things are.
The main problem is a lot of these individual clients are mostly or are only comfortable with PayPal, and are very skeptical of anything else, especially if you reveal you are Nigerian, this triggers flags for them, but PayPal doesn't allow us to receive.
Some clients may be understanding enough to use crypto, but for the most part any service that requires them to use their bank or card details they are understandably weary of. Even if it's services we trust here. Them flutterwave, or paystack.

The easiest way around all this wahala is to just open a Domiciliary account, which has its own problems, but at least it's manageable.

One of the weird things this government or the recent CBN did is to stop direct payment of foreign currency to naira account.

Previously your bank would just exchange the amount for naira at their own rates, which would seem unfair if you considered you could get better rates in the black market, but non the less you could somewhat seamlessly get paid in foreign currency, and I'm guessing this made the inflow of foreign currency to this country somewhat easier
I'm pretty sure the current CBN policy of requiring a Dom.. account has stifled some amount of foreign currency inflow to the country, but I'm just speculating here.

And with the current limit of international spending to only $20 for naira cards, I'm guessing we are suffering a foreign currency shortage in Nigeria.

I'm guessing it's as a result of attempts to block avenues scammers use, and just strange and downright counter productive monetary policies.

And, you remember the news from a while back about flutterwave partnering with PayPal to allow payments into the country?
Well that was a f,,king lie.

The partnership allows payments to other African countries, but not Nigeria.

Well thats not the best approach to it as they end up suffocating genuine online earners... I believe there are better strategies to get things done

For crying out loud,
To hell with this country

I just lost out on a well paid commission work, because of this problem, right now.

You can try out WeWire - www.wewire.com. It's a cross-border payment platform. Although its mostly for businesses, people also use it as well. I've been using them for like 7 months now... no issues
