The kidnapped Prelate of the Methodist Church, His Eminence Samuel Uche, on Tuesday said N100m was paid as ransom before he was released.

At a press conference in Lagos, the cleric said the monies were arranged in five sacks of N20 million.

The funds, he noted, were raised by the Methodist church in Nigeria.

He also claimed that neither the Federal or State Government, nor the military or police intervened.

The cleric was kidnapped on Sunday in Abia State but was released on Monday.

The Prelate had been kidnapped alongside two others, the Bishop of Methodist Church, Owerri Diocese and the Prelate’s chaplain.

They were reportedly whisked away at about 2pm on their was from a church programme in Okigwe Imo State to Isuochi in Umu Nneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

Finally, someone has admitted: ransom was paid for their release. Tomorrow, the police will tell us the release was due to pressure from them and regale us with how some of the kidnappers escaped with bullet wounds.

More war chest for the kidnappers.

That route will be bloody from now on. Clueless government that can't fight the easiest of crimes.

Kidnapping for ransom is very easy to handle. The ransom is the bait. Get a drone airborne and monitor the movement as the ransom is paid. Once the victim has been released, you attack the criminals.

But FG is inept. And governors are pocketing security votes.

We can now see what the incompetent governor of Abia State meant when he said the abducted clerics were released by divine intervention.

The church should not be paying ransome. If we can't use our knees to fight the fight of faith in such desperate situation regardless of the outcome, how will we rescue the Land.

No ransome was paid, we surrounded the kidnappers hideout, engaged them in a shoot-out for five hours, went into their hiding place and brought out the cleric alive with no casualties on our side, meanwhile the kidnappers managed to escape,............which Nigerian minister would likely make this statement, send ur answers to 09155077946 to claim your share of the national cake.

May Devil kill all terrorists and kidnappers, robbers in Nigeria, from boko haram, to ipob terrorist organizations, esn, bandits, evil ones among the herdsmen, ritualists, cannibals,
kidnappers etc

Any sane, honest and hardworking Nigerian will gladly say AMEN to the above if they know they are not supporting and cheering on terrorists and murderers in this nation.

The Police did not intervene, the military did not intervene.

100M in one fell swoop.
They need to unleash Yusuf Kolo, Abba Kyari, James Nwafor on Igboland and now make Wike the sole administrator of the entire Igboland except Imo. The Governors (except Uzodinma) are cowards who are not willing to tackle ipob like Wike and the people are so stupid as to be supporting evil.

Timeline of this kidnap and the promptness of the ransome payment is suspicious to me.
He was kidnapped on Sunday and by Monday morning N100m cash had been raised and delivered!
Yet everyone is just accepting this story as it is.
Questions need to be raised, but of course,in the jungle, raising questions makes you a devil's advocate and everything is swallowed hook, line sinker.

Can you see what this APC government have caused us?

When they were selling presidential form for 100m, why won't these beast request for 100m for somebody to be released, as if it was that easy to see...

Thank God for your safe release...

God will help us

Why didn't Atiku Abubakar congratulate Mr Peter Obi for clinching the Presidential ticket of the Labour party just Mr Peter Obi did for him on social media? Tomorrow he will claim to be a unifier...I don't expect so much from a man that deleted his tweet about Deborah just because of his threatened political ambition

At least God helped the church to raise 100m instead of preventing the terror operation.

God works in mysterious ways, praise be to the most high.
