William Gallas is now Arsenal new captain, while Kolo Toure and Gilberto are to act as Vice-Captains. The justification for this according to Manager Arsene Wenger is because central back is always the best position to lead the pitch and it is Gallas who has more experience at the back. prof. wenger is just the man. can u just see what he is doing to gallas? gallas has been making so much noise about arsenal lacking the bite and not having experience. wenger just wants to use the captainship band to make him feel more comfortable and lead them.

if it was to be based on experience, gallas is just the man that can be the captain but if it is by the number of years u have spent playing in the 1st team, i'll give it to gilberto silva but above all i'll prefer a gallas leading my team

It is really bad I must say. Wenger doesnt want Gallas to leave and thats why he gave him. I recall vividly that he sold viera so that Henry can be lured with the captain band. Even after that, Henry still left us.
Gilberto would have been the perfect man for that position. This guy did very well in the absence of Henry last season scoring goals as well, and I see no reason why Wenger would dump him for Gallas. I guess its another costly mistake by Wenger again, I see Gallas leaving us next season!

Good point this place is getting a litle crowded but i still think making Gallas our captain is a no-no.Are they saying Ryan Giggs can leave Man U today and become Arsenals captain next season, Isnt there anything like tradition in that guys dictionary?

Gallas being the captain is good but Wenger did it the wrong way for not informing Gilberto about the changes.Gilberto got the information on the Arsenal website, which is not a good way to communicate with one's team.
