The other 22 are just errand boys,they don't have the kinda structure, financial war chest,etc that Baba has otherwise why Will they rooting for consensus with due consultations if you have the structure? That's statement of settlement politicians.

Tinubu has bn selecting who governs Lagos and the SW are happy but they're angry with Buhari for selecting who succeeds him.

But why have a consensus candidate when in reality he isnt really the consensus choice as all party delegates are not in agreement to the choice?

Do normal election and let every party delegate vote their choice like was done in PDP.

That is fair.

Whether its Tinubu or Osibanjo or even Ameachi; let the ticket be given to some one that merits it based on the choice of majority of the delegates.


If you are so sure of that consensus choice , then other candidates will step down and support him just like Tambuwal did for Atiku.

Oyegun is not supposed to chair anything Tinubu wants to contest in cos he will be biased. He doesn't like Tinubu.
Anyway the level at which people betray Tinubu is amazing most especially AREGBESOLA who was once an AC repairer for Tinubu.
Tinubu made Fayemi, AREGBESOLA and others become governor.

Is he the only one in the party to be screened? Because Tinubu doesn’t like the chairman of the screening committee he should be changed, how about the next chairman and the other 22 aspirants, what if one of them have the same problem?

Then they will need another person to chair the committee??

Even Oyegun's statement shows his motive. You say 99% gave approval for consensus but there are only 23 aspirants for the presidential position. Is he unintelligent or he just said this in the media just to create a bad image of the just 'one' aspirant who didn't accept consensus.

Now, the same aspirants who wanted consensus have part of them in SW where they never agreed on consensus and all want to go for primaries. The same ones who are 23 in number just for one position. How can 23 aspirants come out for just one position and 22 are looking for consensus now. Isn't this sick?

Before anybody mention me just to make cheap point, I don't support Tinubu and he will never become the president by God's grace. We need true leaders who are genuine to serve this Nation and not somebody who sees the position as a fulfilment of his ambition.

You hit the nail on the head.
The party want to make him look like the bad guy. The guy who doesn't want to cooperate. The guy that thinks he's bigger than the party. That's the picture they're painting of him.

But in reality, the party is scheming to deny him a fair chance to get a shot at the primaries.

The other aspirant do not have a chance against him at the primaries anyways so it's easier for them to subscribe to the consensus arrangement.
If anything, it'll conceal their flop should the primaries go on.

We know some of them won't have any votes.
All Tinubu asked for is a fair primary election. He's not even asking to be made the consensus candidate.
The party seems to be scared of him.
