There is palpable tension in obbo aiyegunle in ekiti local government area of kwara state as dare devil bandits open fire on an 18 seater bus loaded with passengers plying the osi-obbo aiyegunle route.

In the attack two people were reportedly shot dead among the passenger including the driver of the bus.

Eye witness account said the attackers ambushed the vehicle in broad day light shooting directly at the occupants in the vehicle.

Thie source said after forcing the bus to stop the bandits abducted yet to be specified number of the passengers herding them into the bush.

At the time of filling this report details of the attack and the numbers of casualty were still sketchy as the state police command was yet to issue any statement on the matter.

It was however confirmed that two people died on the spot in the latest attack

The report also stated that the people of the town went on rampage at the palace of the king of the town the owa lobo of obbo to register their anger in protest of the incessant attack from bandits and the insecurity in the area.

The incident underlines the fear that terrorist elements have begun to build a haven for their nefarious activities in the southern belt of Nigeria.
