If armed robbers wants to rob a bank,their first target to take off their way are the security guards,and most of them watch over the company they are securing in the midnight,which is even more dangerous,because anything can happen...

Well thats the work am doing but was sack

Mine was in a bank the pay is 31k but there will be increment this month i ve work there for years

There was fire outbreak in that same bank last year and i was one of those who make sure they stop the fire

We stopped the fire before the fire service dept came me and 3 other guys a security and 2 drivers. This bank till today didnt appreciate us but rush to give federal and state fire dept 100k each

In this same bank
A religional complainant has pushed a pregnant lady who happens to be a customer care service attendent and nothing happen

But i was asked to stop work because i accosted a girl who tresspassed into the bank premises on Saturday thats not a work day

They didn't even know if the girl is a criminal or a spy but they asked me to stop work

I thank God cause i wont do that work forever

But it painful how this people don't regard security guards in this country

Whatever role you hold in an organization, if you can be easily replaced, then definitely, you will earn low and many people are willing to fill in your position and maybe do better than you.

I'm so embittered about this. I work as a security for MTN Nigeria. Na MTN ooo no be Mr. Biggs. All I get paid is 17,000 with hard stress. I'm really concerned sef. Wish I could reach out to the top managers.

Being a good security personnel requires skilled at it.

The problem still lies with the government who fails to enactproper labour law to stop labour exploitation and the use NLC way we get that only fight for the unions pocket and not the masses this same security work na in many Nigerians they do for Europe and not even 24 hours and are richer than banks manager here, because their labour law is working which gives no room for any private or government workers to exploit workers either citizen or non citizen, but for here even foreigners way get company self they exploit us

I mean,how do you expect someone who sometimes won't go home to make sure the company's properties are safe during the midnight,even during the day,they make sure properties are safe.

A security guard getting paid with 15,000 naira in a month is too poor,educated or not,they are protecting lives.

In Nigeria, they'll employ a guard to secure properties worth millions of Naira, only to pay the guard 20k, 30k, 40k. Those who earn 60k will do thanks giving for the favor, whereas they are all under paid. In most cases, sleep is even denied.

Security is the most underrated sector of any company in Nigeria though there are exceptions to this also.

At the time corona broke out back then, when every business mainly offline were affected, I was forced to take up a security job through a company.

Despite paying for their ID card and some other levies, I was only given uniform without the boots � as I was told to use my personal boots. I didn’t complain

God so good, I got sales for one of my domains that same year like three months in the job already and I told them I’ll be leaving at the end of that month which is like two weeks before month end.

The manager was now begging me to stay for some weeks again till they find a replacement and I was like shey job that I was managing

Month end like this, I just quit. I think it was the following week my colleague at work also left the company.

It will be raining hell but still you have to resume duty at a certain time.

Most of the times, it’s the fault of those so called contractors abi na agencies

You’ll be surprised that they pay good money from the top but once it starts passing through hands, breeze dey blow some parts away before it gets to the worker gangan

It's so sad to see most of our security guards being lowly paid. Frankly speaking, security jobs is one of the most difficult job in this country and they are supposed to be highly compensated. This is a job which requires you as a guard to stay awake all night protecting lives and company's properties. You get sacked or punished (Salary Deduction) if caught sleeping. I seriously feel something must be done concerning the salary of security guards.

We used to have a probable of low commitment to duty amongst our security men and during our findings we discovered that the security company was paying the security men less than was agreed. I personally had to threaten to terminate the contract before they did the right thing.
Now the least paid of the 8 security personnel's in our place is getting 60k not including the other add ons.
Some employee understand the importance of security though.
