Why The Merger Logic Favours Obi With Kwankwaso As Vice by AlexBells(m): 12:13pm On Jun 19, 2022
When it comes to politics, the spirit of sportsmanship, respect and humility is very crucial, I would say that whether Obi becomes the vice or presidential candidate, my respect for his choices is supreme. In spite of the call for mature politics, I think the logic favours Obi for the following reasons.

1. The only Christian Presidential Candidate: In a country where religion plays very crucial role, it would be crazy to field all muslim candidates, it may seem like the Christians are being gagged.

2. The only Igbo candidate: The Hausa Fulani already have Atiku Abubakar, Kwankwaso coming in the presidency while being appreciated is going to rely on the sharing of the Hausa/Fulani votes. The North West having been president, fairness demands that South East be on the ballot, Atiku's Northeast also haven't been president.

3. Two Igbo vice: Whether Ifeanyi Okowa is South East or not does not change the fact that he is Igbo, so if Igbos are going to chose one of our son over the other then we have to be given enough reason why that should happen, otherwise Obi's vice presidency would have have him sharing votes with Ifeanyi Okowa unless however there is a bigger picture.

4. Obi had been Vice earlier and had better chance of being vice again: If Obi was thirsty for vice, why would he jettison his former boss Atiku Abubakar to be vice to Kwankwaso, well, it about political choices but Obi having been vice had another choice to be vice to Atiku while Kwankwaso on the other hand can't be vice to Atiku and Tinubu is still battling with Muslim/Muslim ticket even in myriad of Northern Stalwart options.

5. Increasing Tinubu's Chance: We must not underplay the impact of the rulling party, with Obi out of the picture means that the APC can use Southern sentiments to gain votes being that Tinubu would be the only Southern candidate, then he can go ahead and field Muslim Muslim ticket knowing there would be no Southern block votes for both APC and PDP.

I wish Obi becomes the Presidential candidate

LP/NNPP should never make the mistake of fielding Obi as VP. Anything short of the presidential flag bearer miss the merger is a waste of time.
I personally will not vote another northerner as president come 2023.

I strongly believe they understand our concern and the coalition would look into these pressing question, since the North is finishing 8 years
