Have you mistakenly transfered Money to wrong account and the owner blocked you? or you are duped thru your bank account? and then later realized that you have been scammed or a mistake on your part? And the receiving bank is not cooperating?

HOW TO RETRIEVE YOUR MONEY AFTER YOUR WRONG TRANSFER

Please read careful and learn.

Many people don't always know what to do, so today am sharing with you things you do, when you realize a page you paid for a service or goods is ghosting you:

1. Write out the Full name and account number of the page or person.

2. Go to the last notification your bank sent you after you made the payment (via mobile app or text) copy out the "TRANSACTION ID NUMBER".

3. Go to any branch of the scam artist's bank (the bank you transferred to), ask to see the CUSTOMER SERVICE in charge of FRAUD.

While you are there, send an email to SCAMMER'S BANK or the d bank u wrongly paid to and copy CBN FRAUD DESK (anticorruptionunit@cbn.gov.ng) n also cpd@cbn.gov.ng
& contactcbn@cbn.gov.ng, this will ginger the bank to take it up fast.

What should you expect from this? The culprit/suspects account will be PLACED ON HOLD. His BVN will be blocked permanently. No account will ever be opened neither will he be able to transact banking business in that name until he clears himself with the bank.

Meaning he/she cannot transfer or withdraw until they visit the bank, and when they do, the bank will contact the police and the suspect when proven guilty will sign a waiver allowing the bank to refund your money.

Endeavour to Share with Friends and Family cos u never can tell who it might help.

Good advice, I should have done this a month or two ago. But now I feel it's too late because I know the elders will most likely tell me to exercise patience coz they'll be trying to avoid any court drama..... and I don't have more time

Forget about the money. Count it a lost investment and move on. Take it as a lesson. The rule of borrowing is to give out what you can let go.

In Nigeria, collecting one destiny back from the devil & recovering your money from debtors are practically the same thing.

I've lend Friends, old school mate, Cousin & Ex's money & all have refused to pay till date.

Good morning everyone,
Pardon me if I am posting this under the wrong section (this is my first time of posting on this platform).

To the matter....
I need legal & other advice on how to handle a situation that's causing me a lot of mental stress. I loaned 280,000 Naira to my cousin's husband around January for his business. There was no written agreement (I blame myself for this) because I felt it would be awkward to ask a family member to sign papers before I help him. Although I have other proofs like recorded calls and conversations where I asked for my money and he kept on begging for more time. The agreement we had was for him to payback by March. I had plans to purchase a fairly used Keke-napep with this 280k (plus some money I had reserved in my account).

When it was time to pay, I called him a lot to ask for my money. Sometimes, he'll pick and beg for more time. Sometimes, he'll pick and just leave me saying "hello hello hello" without a word from him. Most of the time he won't even pick my calls. He once asked me to send my account number but he didn't send anything (I felt like a joke). This went on from March, April & May. During this period, I had spent, on feeding & other bills, all the money I was supposed to add to the 280k in order to purchase the Keke-napep. This Keke-napep would have generated money for this bills if I had bought it then.

I've been staying at his place since beginning on this month because I don't have any money to fend for myself. When I came here, he told me that his customers promise to send the money before 15th of this month but they didn't. Now he said they promise to send it by the end of this month. All these while I have been patient and tolerant with everything, including the treatment I've been receiving since I came here (I don't even want to go into these treatments). I've been staying indoor since I came here because I don't know anywhere in this area. Just sitting one place and waiting for time to run makes me think about a lot of things and it's depressing.

I can't take this anymore. Even if I have a soft spot for family members, I also need to think of myself by taking necessary measures to get my money back before they ruin my plan of purchasing something that will help me survive daily. I need advice, please

All this fish brain, why arrest your family because of 200k, spits.

Definitely if he had, he would have paid.
It's obvious things don rough for am. Have patience.

Your problem is a family problem, take it to the family head or his church pastor. Las las, you can call Ebuka and let them judge him in that joke of a show called Judging Matters.
On a more serious note, the sooner you move out of his house, the better for you cos when wahala finally burst, he will say he housed you and fed you and you have to pay him for all that or you have used that to cover the money he owes you.

Bros I totally feel your pain but please calm down. Put this quote in your left palm " Never loan out an amount you can't forfeit". You were sweet talked into parting with your money because you are inexperienced and naive about our money repayment works.

No matter what he promised you, a financial literate person knows that the repayment cycle is too short, he himself knew abi nitio that he won't pay back as promised but because he's desperate he played along.

Don't do anything irrational, he's your inlaw and must be feeling very sad and tensed, he's already seeing himself as a failure, he's the one who supposed to be showing love to your guys but destiny has humbled him.

See me myself lent my inlaw 500k since 2017 November and he promised paying back February of the new year, me as an experienced man who has tasted trenches life before knew he can't pay back so I took my mind off it, he just gave me a cook and bull story of a business of farm produce that will yield xyz percent in 3 months and November is the season, the possibilities of him investing in the said business is low , but what I'm certain is that a reasonable percentage of it he used it for personal immediate family stuff. At least my aunt and her children will be relieved and the man will have a high hope of a better new incoming new year with 500k cash at hand.

Also what if he dies in the trenches battle is it not people like us that will still adopt our aunty's children? So it's better he's alive and taking up his responsibilities by himself, that's the wisdom I borrowed myself when lending him. The money isn't a big money for me so I closed my mind from it, if he repays fine, if he doesn't fine. All I know is he can't face me in the future for such a gesture, lest I forget he's is 15 years older than me ooo, now in his mid 50's.

Since then which is close to 5 years bro never mention the money, lol. He had to approach my parent at one event like that so they can pipe me down, I just told them I did it for my aunt not him. Sincerely he's a very very nice man, nah economy humble am so I can never rubbish him. Also I have been down in life before, so I perfectly understand the dynamics of being broke pro-max as a full grown adult. No condition is permanent and once in a while I do pray for him and his family for financial uplift.

So bros, calm down and pray for him, he's feeling bad already and your cousin is the most hit, see it as a learning curve for you too, never lend out what you can't forfeit. Don't fight and don't put him under pressure, advise him to pay in bits.

Gracias

Converse with your cousin how urgent and impatient you need the fund.
Increase your tone angrily during the conversation. She will get the message and relay it to your Inlaw

You won't get your money completely even if U sue him to court... Reason being that U have resorted to staying with him &he is probably feeding &taking care of u in many ways, if not every ways. That is an excuse 4him. Firstly, you should speak with your cousin who is his wife... I hope she was aware when you borrowed her husband the money. Secondly& importantly, you need to put pressure on him. You need someone who can put pressure on him. Thirdly, you can sue him to the 'court of your family'... This court can or would majorly consist your father &mother, your cousins father&mother &the father&mother of your cousins husband. Ultimately-which is not the last or the least, take it to THE LORD IN PRAYER. Of course, people would run to GOD or people tends to run to GOD after making mistakes or terrible mistakes and after they can't find solution to their problems despite running helter skelter. They have forgotten that it is best to put GOD FIRST in everything they do or before they do anything. Goodluck

Take him to court bro.

With which money ? As If he wouldn't spend money to get slim justice that will favour the debtor in return....my broda, its a different issue if he is making little money and decided not to pay you back, but as country be....he must have been struggling raising this money. Pls seek the advice of your immediate family and solve your problem internally. Those advising you to go to court have not step a foot inside court before.

People should learn to stop using there own problem to affect others. I bet the brother used that fund for a 50/50 business..... Why the hell will you borrow fund when you know Refund at priorly stated date is not guaranteed.... if he had borrowed that same fund from microfinance bank, would he have gotten the 5 months grace he's having now

No matter what you do, the truth is that the money is gone, it’s gone, the best way to have done it was to give him your account number at the time of the loan and you will agree on a specific amount for him to pay every month, I believe he is a family man and it’s not easy to be doing small scale business and feed your family this period.

What you can do now is to ask him how much he can pay every month to your account, maybe divide the money across a six months period, let him be paying little by little as for that lump sum it is gone, and if u do not handle it well, the money will be gone in its entirety and also you would have created enemy for yourself, just be careful very few people are normal in this country

I quite understand how pressing it is to you for you to fulfil your dreams; but guy, I would say that you need to calm down a bit. Since it is not something that will affect your life, health or livelihood, I advise you give him the time he asked. You just can't avoid such sacrifices in a family setting. Taking a lawyer is too drastic. Don't say it on phone, sit down with him and ask him to tell you exactly when he is sure the funds will be available for him to pay. Give him the time and return to him at expiration, and, if no show, give him your own deadline, and dish out your lawyer threat.

Unfortunately this is a civil matter. If you had collected a post dated cheque from him, you could have used that as leverage.
How much will you pay lawyer to sue for 250k? Besides are you prepared to keep going to court and spending money? Even if you win the guy, judge now ask him how much he can afford to pay monthly. The guy says 1k. Lol, you then have to get your money over 250 month. No be juju be that?
The most you can do hoping the guy is a unenlightened person is to get soldiers or police to pay him a visit to threaten him with arrest. Not to touch him oh, because you do that and he knows his right, na you go de beg am to leave the money.
Anyway you are in a fix, you best bet is to use friends, family, his wife to put pressure on him.
Nb:k Never lend a Nigerian money, except it is someone you know 100% has integrity. Nigerians don't pay. They will rather turn it to quarell. Meanwhile them still go de do faaji for weekend. 7

I won't argue with you, but I can never arrest my family for any amount.

Any amount I can lend out, I can let go.
Wisdom better pass fight.
It's a different issue here. OP have already lend out amount he can't let go....

I'm not asking him to let go, but he should avoid arresting him.

He will spend money to mobilize police to arrest him.

Police won't keep him in jail, he will also bail himself with same money he might be saving to pay him.

Police will only ask him, if he is owing, he will affirm.
And they will ask him when he can pay and how he will pay.

He can now decide to be paying you 20k monthly and if police confirms.
Your money will come in bits.

Now relationship don scatter, money don scatter.
So what's the need?

Imagine the psychological trauma! Sue his a$$!
I am a business man and I know a bad deal when I see one,his first mistake is not having a collateral for such amount, the second mistake is not signing any agreement and the third mistake that maybe his last is living in the same house, people has perished for far less amount, forget about sueing, forget about police,if the fellow is down and out there is nothing you can do,even if you report to the oracle's (with is not practical due to family tied) they will invite him and he will not deny owning you, they will still give him time to payback, this is a toxic loan, learn your lesson and move on and away from that house.you are warned
