Is It A Sin If One Refuse To Marry? by Jettage: 12:46am On Jul 23, 2011
Would you advice me to marry, I have never been fortunate, my lots has been that women just would not accept my simplicity,

I was in a relationship with a Young lady who after she graduated from school and got a job, left to the UK with another Lover boy who apparently comes from a home of avarice and affluent

I have pretended about my little status so as not to get a lady influenced into marriage based on mundane things

Worried about the unspoken quest for avarice predominant in our society and the many divorce in homes, I am too scared to death to have such as my lot. (It is not a slavery type of fear) Just that it worries me that Love does not seems to last longer as it used to be

Recently, my good friend told me how a married woman (wife of his cousin) wanted so badly to sleep with him because he caught his Husband doing same with a neighbor

I see women everywhere and a lot of them are too Plastic (Unreal) to me,

The most important thing to me in a woman is her spirituality, her inward beauty, her modesty, decency, her maturity, her ability to manage a home with little or no supervision,

What I see around is a pretentious unrealistic woman, One was asking me where I work and she is unemployed herself,
There was one who wanted to know if I had a car, and the father never bought a Tyre

Another wanted to know if I have money in the bank and she is painfully bankrupt herself
So I wander how women became vain and would not at first sheath their sword of greed until they get the man

The stories of my friends failed marriage are also worrisome, I know some marriages are bliss, but these are very few.
I am almost Thirty something in age, I am beginning to think that marriage is not worth it if one becomes unlucky to find a soul mate

It is difficult to marry in the Church these days, the problems of hypocrisy is alarming
The Village is not an option because MFM has exposed witchcrafts

Modern girls are a problem, they burn universities, they can burn a husband, I fear the rage of a woman
Help me to think, am I committing sin If I do not marry?

eya my brother. Its not only you suffering from the same issue.

Why not have a trusted friend ? or someone you respect hook you up ? Write down your values on a peace of paper so that when that person comes, you'll be able to identify them. Good luck but love is SWEET when with the right person. wink wink

@tpia@ Decorum in handling,

You seem to be the only one who cared so much about that, I have found the response of others so intriguing,

How else can i say thank you than to look at your picture attached only to find out that you have a semblance of my description in the post,

I conclude that, you may be pricked and needed to vent your anger on the poster,

mine is a burden borne alone, Intelligent pips have forgiven my clumsiness, responding as though I never goofed,

You would be fine to forgive me also. Dwell on the issue if you have counsels drawn from a guiltless heart. grin shocked grin

^^ok then, mr 2 posts.

i'm honored the third one [or is it second] was for me.

so what are you saying? You refuse to marry because of me?

didnt quite get you there.
Re: Is It A Sin If One Refuse To Marry? by Goldieluks: 7:53am On Jul 23, 2011
@tpia please be reasonable sometimes.

@op,you sounded like a matured individual who is able to make reasonable and fruitful decisions.
But reading through your post,I noticed you have a judgemental attitude and negative vibe about the union between a man and a woman. Marriage is obviously not for everyone(according to some people)but as an individual, you should take a look at where your coming from and where your heading to,do not let the negativity of this jetage towards marriage over cloud your sense of belonging. You should be aware that a positive approach takes one a long way in life. Am not saying you must get married, what am saying is just be positive and occupy your heart with the good and beautiful aspects.

My disjointed “Elizabethan expression” is indeed a minus I must re-learn to be apt as you are

There is no need for the rouse

You still would not……………

@op, ofcourse, it is not a sin if you refuse to marry. the Bible confirms this. but you need stay without a woman if you dont want it to be a sin. I absolutely doubt. why not embrace celibacy and savour your happiness.

with your background and specs of a woman, u risk finding an imperfect woman. i am afraid, your mind has been made up on women
Re: Is It A Sin If One Refuse To Marry? by God2man(m): 12:42pm On Jul 23, 2011
Sin. No, it is a not a sin if you are not married, infact, it will make you a better christian, heavenly focused, but the question is : do you the Grace of God to control your passion? Open your bible to 1corithians 7:7-9: "for i would that all men were even as i myself. But every man hath his proper of God, one after this manner, and another after that. I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is Good for them if they abide even as i . But if they cannot contain (have self control) let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn." verse 32:" but i would have withou carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord". In this present generation where there is so much temptation from the opposite sex, how would you survive? We are in perilious time, things are getting worst, day by day, not only in nigeria, but all over the world. There are plenty of avenues to fall into immorality, ladies expose the most sensitive part of their body to lure men into sin. Now, tell me , how would you stay without getting married? Unless you want to deceive yourself. If you say, you want to be man of God, pastor or whatever, that is even worst, because daughters of eve will come for counselling. So the best you can do is to get marry. Now, how do you get the right person to marry?. The book of proverb says "he that findeth a good wife obtain favour from the Lord" has God favoured you? Are you a Godly person yourself? If your answer is yes, then you need to seek the face of the one who created marriage for your missing rib? But there is a big problem with that, what you want may not be what God want for you, You may be looking for perfection, but nobody is perfect, infact, if you are looking for a perfect wife, it may difficult. Pls. Check yourself very well, you will discover that you are not perfect, perfection belong to God. Nevertheless, there are still some good sisters out there, correct your own imperfection first, get a job, do something to bring income for you. Be compassionate, forgiving, humble, and positive about getting a wife. You have a great responsibility, as a man, to make your marriage work. Pray to God on it. After marriage, you stiil have work to do. It is a continuos thing. Nothing good come easy. I wish you the best. God bless you. God2man.

Since, we are talking about sins aka Godly matters:

No, it is not a sin to not marry but it is a sin to not marry and sleep about. .You are either married or celibate.

@op
I quote you below.
'Modern girls are a problem, they burn universities, they can burn a husband, I fear the rage of a woman'
That made me laugh so hard. grin
However what caught my attention was this 'I know some marriages are bliss, but these are very few,
I like telling anybody who cares to listen;

1.Do not give up on living because somebody committed suicide
2.Do not fear investing because the stock markets paint a different picture
3.Do not give up believing in God because some 'idolised man of God' sinned.
4.Do not give up on education because there are many jobless master holders
5.Do not give up on marriage because of the rising no of divorces etc etc.
etc etc.

If we all become pessimists then what kind of world will this be? If you believe some marriages are bliss, then join that clique of those enjoying bliss.Find out from them why its all bliss. Hardwork is the name.Rem,theres nothing new in the world after all, so all these evils will continue happening whether or not you get married.

A marriage without conflicts is almost as inconceivable as a nation without crisis.

This is where many fail leading to those divorces. Study this course called conflict resolution and you will live happily ever after.

Oh plus its not a sin to remain bachelor.Paul never married but he had one heck of a thorn in the flesh.

cheers

Re: Is It A Sin If One Refuse To Marry? by Jettage: 5:10pm On Jul 27, 2011
My wedding is tomorrow
Foul these vain desires,
Blame it on me,
Maybe tomorrow,
To the altar’s oath
Like many,
We shall walk through the isle,
Greening in my genteel gaunt
I will this honor bequeath to my well beloved tomorrow

Tomorrow,

I shall not consider the qualities of a virtuous woman,
The which I wait,
How scarce!
This memoir will be extraneous tomorrow,
I bid you come to my wedding when Godliness mutates into morality,
And the date is tomorrow.

Tomorrow

After our wedding, I must satisfy her,
Though painfully none of her species are so
I have labored, and it is for her belly
The weary days,
The sun and rains of my struggles are for my queen
She will come tomorrow
To this little that she despised

Tomorrow

Keep it in your journal,
She said, “I will come tomorrow”
Her delays are many
I must wait till tomorrow
When her quest for vanities are fully spent
Our wedding shall be tomorrow

Tomorrow

Her unspoken greed will vanish,
Her ostentatious exhibitions must die out,
She is sampling the beckoners still
She must see how affluent or how deprived I am, before she decides
And when she exits,
It must be by excuses of weightless form
Then tomorrow we shall deceitfully walk to the alter

Tomorrow
I bid you wait till tomorrow,
My companion is in the home
With him that must not be known,
The last delivery ere our vows
To her object of lust
Or her desire of a far country
Sleep oh Delilah, I shall wait till tomorrow

Tomorrow
Pray tomorrow
When virtue is burnt in secret
I shall see the spouse, yet not as chaste
I must nurture the wounds, the scars of other men
And regret, I never met her so
Yet she must do it again as she did before
We shall start tomorrow

Tomorrow
Heavy sleep shall close mortal eyes
When she dance as though truly she was never touched
Never aborted,
With all her lovers in the pew,
Mocking my foolishness, with unspoken memories of their memoir,
The victim of a wasted LovePeddler
Ready to fool the world in “unholy matrimony”

Tomorrow,
Pity me,
When she turned Unclad, flaunting foolishness for fashion
Call her not my wife,
When she fights on the street in rage and fury
Call her not my wife,
When vanities seats solidly on her brow,
Call her not my wife,
When pride and arrogance turn her loose against neighbors and her man
Call her not my wife,
When she gossips like little minds
Call her not my wife,
When her beauty is merely external void of internal glories
Call her not my wife,
When godliness is exempted and the fear of God extinct
Call her not my wife
Think no shame on me,
When her influence becomes a seed sown in innocent children

And
Rapacity full grown,
Children in Pretence and deceit,
Immoral
Seductress,
Flaunting shame, of forbidden fashion
Skedaddle the correcting of true counsel,
Cheap as the wife of my regret,
Our errors vivid and our shame stunning,
Regrets,
I must marry tomorrow even a day before I die.
