Fresh out of NYSC in 2018, I started a remote job in the blockchain industry as a social media moderator. I was hired by a Canadian firm but my department was headed by a boss from Sri Lanka.

Honestly this Sri Lanka guy is too good, Infact whatever I am today he played a great part in it. Cool headed guy, respects every workers. If a worker proves stubborn or incompetent, he will discharge him or her in the most polite way.

Moving into 2019, the company packed up due to bad management from the top management board. I stayed out of work for more than 3 months. Somehow the Sri Lanka guy had special interest in me.

He hit me up one day and ask if I had interest to become a blockchain content developer and writer. I responded positively even though I wasn't even proficient in writing. Omo! This guy started off by giving me writing gigs and teaching me a lot of writing styles and all the technical jargons. Within 6 months, I had already hit the runway and flying. We did a lot of content together, till date we are still in contact - does one or two jobs for him once in a while.

The big break is that, the blockchain content field he led me into recently landed me a job with another firm for N700k monthly salary.

It's been 4 years now, still, me and this Sri Lanka guy never meet face to face but we communicate every week grin

They are still good foreign bosses out there.
Hi.. I’d really appreciate if you can put me through blockchain as i’ve been struggling to stay afloat in the crypto industry

Amongst all, I give it to the American boss. He's open to teach, politely correct your errors and very sociable. Less I forget, Fridays are for Pizza cheesy

Wow! How do you locate these companies to work with them?

I work with a German INGO and my experience with Germans is so amazing. They're very focused on result and performance and wouldn't mind giving you all the resources (finance inclusive) to deliver. You must also justify resources spent. Health, wellness, vacation and family is non-negotiable. And yeah, I had taken my German colleague on a tour round the south-west on his last trip to Nigeria and he had wheat and vegetable in one of the famous amala joints in Ibadan cheesy. In my view, Germans are very welcoming to Nigerians but we need to do better on our impression in the Global scene.

I think Germans are closest to Americans in lifestyle. No wonder they're allies and partners in international politics (I know right).

I worked with Austrians, in the team was Germans, I think they work together

But my experience was horrific.

Worked with an Indian man, he has already gone back to India. During our working period, he was the best thing that happened to me. He was so caring and loving, worked with him in Lagos and later he got another job in Delta state. He called me over, recommended me to the CEO and gave me a good offer. Though he has gone back but I am still working in the firm. I can't forget him, whenever I am in need, he was always there for me.
The gesture I never had from any Nigerian not even family member.

Hello good day, please I beg you in the name of whatever you serve can you please extend that hand of kindness to me?

Having studied Mass Communication I will gladly say I have some considerable amount of experience in writing and of recent I've been seeing Adverts coming from the Blockchain space one of which is XRP Student Ambassadorship and I realized that I need to have written some content on the space or have some experience in the ecosystem in order to stand a better chance.

Please I need guidance and mentorship. I'm willing to learn please.

My Chinese boss at the CCECC was young, kind and playful. I would always play with his fluffy hair then .

His other colleagues would tell him not to relate with us on a friendly level but he doesn't agree to them. I think it was because he was the youngest of all and was in the surveying department. (They respect us gan) cheesy

But you see other bosses in other departments? Nah werey dem be. You dare not call them without attaching "Master".

My boss will never let you can him master because he was so passionate towards people.
I work for EEC, still chinese company. Some are nice some are wicked, can you connect me to work in CCECC

My working experience with British people was smooth and paid well unlike Chinese, underpaid, no incentives, poor treatment too, being searched every day after work before leaving the workplace. I tire!

Indians are so foolish. Unfortunately, I am also a racist. I just don't get comfortable with them. I work for an Indian company as a Power, Instrumentation and Control Project lead but they will respect you if you actually know and can defend your nitch anytime anyday.
Be genuine with yourself and don't be a snake to your fellow country men. Don't snitch on your brothers because if the indians actually discover that you're smart and good, they will want to draw you closer and use you as a snitcher.
I have always hate systematic racism and over the time, I became a racist.
My memory of working with them interm of how I handled everyone of them is always great whenever I look back and think about it.
The indians complain that I m hot tempered because I cant tolerate one incompetent person to make me doubt my potential or loose my confidence.

So I worked for an American remotely, it was a full time gig. We usually have zoom meetings every morning to talk about yesterday's task and talk a little about today's task. ( the zoom meetings tire me i swear)

What I noticed about them is that they relate with you like you are their friend, love keeping up with time, and hate unnecessary excuses.

They have the most polite way of laying someone off.

The guy sacked me one time, cos I chatted him up to make a complain about the work we were doing that something wasn't working well.

He said i should jump on zoom so he shares his screen to explain the stuff to me, but I refused and told him that we can sort it out tomorrow morning.

Oga come vex say what was my reason for raising the issue when I don't want it to be solved then. Next morning i tried to login, I no get access again. Checked my mail and one long letter dey wait for me.

He later hire you back? I guess this is a Web Dev job of some sort.
