They're almost the same just that LG is higher in ram and battery. But 3xl has better control with software since google owns android and they have good camera.

If Android update won't be a problem to you, the LG is very good - Better speaker, better battery and a very decent camera which GCAM will make it more better.

the only thing the pixel 3xl has over the g8 is the android version and maybe the camera but that doesn't mean the camera on the g8 isn't good.

the LG has a more powerful and more optimized chipset in SD 855 compared to the SD 845 on Pixel 3XL
also 6GB RAM is better than the 4GB RAM on the pixel 3xl
In my opinion, it's a no-brainer 6GB ram is the standard for android 10 upward and the LG g8 is the better of the two.

i will always take 6GB RAM 128GB ROM with SD 855 over 4GB RAM 64GB ROM and SD845.

Other comments have already given you the answer you need. The only advantage(s) the Pixel 3XL has over the LG G8 is a better camera and Android 12 update. The good part is that you can still download GCAM app in the LG to get comparable camera quality.

Hardware-wise, LG G8 has the Snapdragon 855 onboard while both the Samsung S9 & S9 Plus has the Snapdragon 845.

The LG is 6GB/128GB while the S9 series is 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB.

The LG G8 and the S9 series both have 3,500 mAh battery capacity.
