Hello house,

I need your kind assistance in helping me out my current dilemma.

So I'm currently serving in one of the south western states with the state's Ministry of Energy. Now, for many who already know this, serving with the Ministry is a total waste of time, we literally do nothing than sit in the office from morning till closing time. I didn't want to waste my service year like this so I began looking for opportunities to keep myself engaged. Now to be clear, I didn't work my posting here. I'm from the north posted to the west to serve and not a single naira went into direct posting or stuff like that.

Now luckily for me, I've been able to secure a sort of training with a company looking to expand her operations in Nigeria. I'll be trained for 6 months after which myself and others also doing the training will be onboarded and employed as staff of the company. This is a software development job of which I've always had an interest to pursue a career in as an Engineering graduate. I was given a laptop and placed on monthly stipends for this training.

Long story short, I'm about to lose this opportunity as I've been told that I can't combine both this new job with my ppa, I can only have one of either. As such, I'm looking to change my ppa back to this new company. My ministry has agreed to reject me and the company is willing to accept me. The issue on ground now is that I've been told nysc wouldn't post me to an organization that isn't registered with them. I don't know how true this is and I'm willing to hear inputs concerning this from people who've previously been in my position or people who understand how the system works.

I really don't want to miss this opportunity, a training that is free, monthly stipends, assurance of a job on completion of my service and career in a field I've always wanted.

Thank you as you keep the advice coming in.

it's not a big deal. The organisation would be registered on NYSC data base. Afterwards you'd be posted there. I can do that for you if you don't mind my service.

Really interesting topic. I've always wanted to know if one can have his PPA with a foreign company.

Simply reason with the current PPA to enable you be a ghost Corper, you only show up end of the month to get a clearance letter from them and do your Clearance. Provided it's not outside the same zone, you're covered since you can still be attending CDS group meetings weekly.

If the organization is not registered with Nysc then you can't change it to your new PPA even if your old one rejects you, don't let anyone deceive you, the only thing you can do is to have an arrangement with your present PPA that will enable you to get your monthly clearance and not show up there and be a full time worker in the new organization you got.

Selah.
