Sentience for these purposes is self consciousness. Not even just consciousness but self consciousness. Do you have a different view or definition of it?

Yes, but such a scenario as I already indicated would only prove to me that the mind is indeed distinct from the body. As a matter of fact, I believe this scenario is already the case with us, save that the machine is biological.

By the time this A.I programs reach the state they call the singularity and begin to perform "unbelievable signs and wonders" They might also introduce the idea that these sentient A.I programs are aliens or extra-terrestrial in nature. Mind you, they already have all of this ready to go. They are just waiting for the right time to initiate. Before order, there must be chaos.



I plan on writing about another form of delusion currently going on in the U.S. But I don't think I will post that here. Reddit is a much better place to have that discussion not this pit of confusion called nairaland.

The baby example is no issue. It is evidently a sentient being in an early stage of it's development. In time, it would bloom.

I think this is good enough for me. We'll have to see how things develop. I personally how to see the emergence of true AI in my lifetime.
