As a Nigerian and a Yoruba man i say a big thumbs up to our Governor Rochas. This is the type of leadership we expect from our politician. I Tell you, this man is doing something that will engrave his name on the minds of the Imo people. God bless you Rochas, God bless every good leader in Naija |

Eko Ile: This is not awoof, afterall it is not free food, free house etc. It is more about quality education and the restoration of hope. They have seen a good governor who is serious and is ready to work for the people. More opportunities will open for the people in other areas. ~Bluetooth: Most Nigerians who go to study abroad do so because of the quality of education in those countries and this is the same reason why Imo indigenes are relocation to their home state to enjoy quality education. If Gov Rochas continues like this and other governors fail to emulate him, then many Nigerians, not only Imo indigenes, will relocate to Imo state to enjoy good governance. EVen some Nigerians studying abroad may come back home. The bottom line is: GOOD THINGS ATTRACT PEOPLE. |

The day this chap appointed the Chief Comedian of the state was the day he lost my respect. I'm not convince he has the full interest of his peeps at heart. |

Ndi igbo and awoof things, So its free education that is carrying them home?! I wonder what free housing and feeding would do, I saw someone mention Amaechi in the same sentence with Rochas, If Amaechi were Jesus, Rochas is not fit to be in the same room with him let alone dine on the sama table, Igbos are so gullible, Free education and Rochas is now your messaih, meanwhile Imo state is still as redundant as ever, Now you have a special adviser that's 'the chief comediian' of the state. Uche ogbuagu is being paid from state funds to crack jokes, Talk about goin into the dark ages when the king use to have a court jester, And you wonder why the igbos would not be producing the next president , Smh I weep for Imo state, I weep for ndi igbo, I weep for Nigeria, |

Okija_juju: So this is the only error you can pick out of his government? I suspect you only hating the man or Igbos for nothing. I wish you could continue to be a check on these Igbo and Yoruba folks that like derailing threads. |

@ John Paul, Its nothing personal but Rochas Okorocha is as confused as his name sounds, Free Education and our people are singing halleluyah!! Under the Universal Basic Education Scheme, basic education is supposed to be free, I am not interested in free things. Gone are the days when politicians buy and give our free motorcycles and sewing machines and call it empowering the people, What are his plans to make Imo States economy vibrant?! Be disappointed all you want but I'm not move by tom-tom and butter mint when other states are already eating chocolate, Indi igbos don't leave home because of bad education, they leave because the igbo states have all been mismanaged in the past, Abia state boasts of one of the biggest markets (Ariaria) that serves Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers and Imo state, That market is the highest IGR earner of the state, yet everytime I pass through Aba, I'm ashamed. Do you think its lack of schools or our inability to pay school fees that makes an Igbo man abandon home for 'the city' which is lagos, Port-harcourt and Abuja?! Its cos our states are not economically active. Anambra State should be way bigger and better than it is, But since our ppl have learnt to celebrate mediocrity, backwardness has never left us, That's why no igbo state can boast of a mega city like lagos, Rivers and Abuja. Go and see what upkabio has turned Akwa Ibom into and call me when Rochas lives up to half of his achivement, Free Education my ass, Keep celebrating ignorance and claiming marginalization while the rest of Nigeria are moving forward, Amaechi is building Nigerias first monorail system in River state while u people are there laffing at Ogbuagus jokes and sending ur kids to awoof schools, |

This is bad business for private school owners in Imo state who have taken advantage of bad and corupt leaders to enrich themselves at the expense of peoples. Rochas Okorocha must be encouraged to continue in his present direction so as present his achievement as a benchmark for other state Govs. who thinks it is their right to embezzle state fund/ |
Re: Imo Indigenes Return Home For Free Education by Okijajuju1(m): 10:54am On Jul 26, 2011 |
@ Estatemark Are you living in a cave or what?! Benchmark for what Governors?! Maybe the yoruba govenors and his fellow abia state govenor |

Okrorocha continue with your good works and it will get to a stage that your enemies won't have choice than to acknowledege your good works. I pray the good Lord to give you the strength and grace to rule the Imosians. |
Re: Imo Indigenes Return Home For Free Education by Okijajuju1(m): 11:36am On Jul 26, 2011 |
Imo State indigenes must be so poor if they are relocating because of free education, Makes you wonder what age they must live in over there, When other states are talking about achieving atleast 20hr a day electricity Imo state is declaring public holiday for paying pensioners and free Basic education, I laff in Ohafia |
Re: Imo Indigenes Return Home For Free Education by freepeople: 11:38am On Jul 26, 2011 |
Mehn, dis one na propaganda at its best. Igbo people relocating from Benue ONLY. I laugh in Swahili. I hope Rochas doesn't rely on HYPE and headlines. He should quickly get down to business. I wont remind him of what happens to media savvy governor. Peter Obi can proffer a better advice. I rest my case. |

One need to imagine what could have happened in Igbos land if their hero ZIK was intelligent like Okorocha,,, truth to be told, someone is still burning in hot hell fire now for depriving his own people freeee eduction. Good job Okorocha, just continue to listen to your Oga Fashola. |

I tire o! is UBE not in existence or what?Free education my bum bum. is it what would put foods on our table.there are no plans to move Imo state economy forward. civil servants are being owed two months salary.infact Imo state is virtually at a standstill. Finally students at IMSU are still paying 30,000 which is what they were paying during Ohakims era(which he sensationally hyped to 50,000 with the help of the students, who are now complaining). |
Re: Imo Indigenes Return Home For Free Education by Okijajuju1(m): 12:19pm On Jul 26, 2011 |
philip0906: my guy come and chack out places like trans-amadi in ph, unconfiremd but i learnt akwa-ibom has an area tagged industrial area that is supposed to have 24hrs light, Only states that have invested in their independent power projects can afford this. Rivers State is asking the govenrnment allow them to generate and distribute their own electricity and sell the excess off to other states, What has imo state got to offer Nigeria? Abegi, Let's save our praises for laudable achievements and not applaude a governor for giving u ur right. |
Re: Imo Indigenes Return Home For Free Education by Johnpaul2k2(m): 1:38pm On Jul 26, 2011 |
Okija_juju:sometimes i wonder how people do reason are you comparing amaechi who has already spent ONE FULL TERM IN OFFICE with GOD SENT ROCHAS!!!! who has not stay up to 100 DAYS in office come back to NL in next four years and see for yourself, i am from anambra state though, but there is need to appreciate good things. secondly , your talking about awoof , is education not part of HUMAN CAPITAL AND EMPOWERMENT OR is it because your parents were opportune to learn you in school let us think about the less privilege at least for once, ROCHAS is GOD SENT BROS |
Re: Imo Indigenes Return Home For Free Education by amarilo: 2:00pm On Jul 26, 2011 |
@Okija Juju What happened at Trans-Amadi? 24hrs power supply? Candle of abi Lantern cos i know its not Gen neither is it PHCN. |
Re: Imo Indigenes Return Home For Free Education by Okijajuju1(m): 3:57pm On Jul 26, 2011 |
amarilo: i will address your matter first. bros, i didnt say ph has achieved the 24hr light yet but places like trans-amadi boasts of over 12hrs of light a day (except when there is a major fault ofcourse), trans-amadi gardens also does experience days of uninterrupted power supply. my point is something like free education which is the fundamental right of every Nigerian child according to the constitution isn't something we should be celebrating, His cabinet selection leaves a lot to be desired, Celebrate that, Johnpaul2k2: Nwokem, Cool down, I will comment on his achievements after 100 days in office, But what I will not do is call UBE an achievement, I attended public myself, and had it not been for my mothers extra effort, I wonder what manner of graduate I would have been. Its not about how free the education is but rather how good. Amaechi in Rivers State has built public schools that makes some private schools look like kiosks and yes its absolutely free, The government also provides books and uniforms for free as well, But we are asking that the teaching staff be improved as well, Basic education is a right not a priviledge, Celebrate something like good roads that would serve beyong his tenure, celebrate lights, celebrate good jobs, I'm not impressed by trivial things, I give kudos where its due, His choice of cabinet has already started him off on a wrong footin IMO, I'm gonna keep watching him cos he was really hyped by Imo people as the messiah, I wanna see how that goes |
