RETHINKING THE VIRGIN BIRTH STORY

This story suggests that a woman is just and incubator and not a co-creator. This means that she does not contribute anything gene to the birth of a child, she is just a container. In other words, Mary didn't contribute anything to the birth of Jesus.

However, recent modern studies and expanded knowledge clearly shows that a woman is an equal co-creator with her "X-cell".

This then puts a very big question mark on the Virgin Birth narrative. Because:

1. If she is a co-creator then she can't give birth to someone that is fully God and fully man. At best she should have a "half caste" half God and half man.

2. It also means that if Jesus had a woman that contributes 50% of his genetic make-up, then that woman will come from Adam and passes to him the original sin. He cannot except it. Then the idea of "Jesus the sinless one" gets compromised.

We cannot in good conscience, keep telling this stories for they cannot make a single contact with our realities today...it might have done yesterday before they understood things, like the role of a woman in child birth, but not anymore.

However see how I am understanding the Jesus story now...

It reveals to me that in fully becoming human, like Jesus, the full meaning of God is revealed.

We we become Fully human, we reveal God.

Another foolishness!

So the mere fact that you used your phone to type this rubbish means your phone too co-created it?

Now you are looking too stupid.

I'm certain another stupid thread is in coming up for in your mind, you think you are the first to think up these stupid things, not knowing that you are being the freshest stupid person in nairaland.

You see people as you are not as they are.

Both I don't think you know that.

Do you even know that even with this reply and your next action, you are creating your future?

Everything you wrote up there is a statement of who you are. Filled with vile and hatred.

I respond to you with who I am, I don't react to who you are. Sorry.

That's why I can't insult, I will always leave that to you.

And you are right, another post is coming, and it will be 'thought provoking'.

Anyway, just keep living, you will be alright.

Institutional Christianity seems very fearful of inquiry, fearful of freedom, fearful of knowledge, fearful of anything except its own repetitious doctrines, which has its origin in a world that no longer exist.

That is why, whenever religious claims are challenged, their typical response is not to enter a rational discussion, but to engage in revealing anger (I can't tell you how much I have been insulted just by asking questions). Anger never arises out of genuine commitment; it is always a product of threatened security.

However, these things must be questioned(the books, the creeds, everything) now or never, if we want to remain relevant in these evolving world.

These questions must be asked honestly with our expanded knowledge.

What remains after the questions will then be our truth.

First and foremost there are no virgin birth prophecy in the old testament.

A woman can not give birth without the input of a man.

The idea of demi gods is not found in Jewish theology.

It is a Greeco/Roman mythology..

The term 'messiah ' as defined by the Jews means anointed king or preist.

So the gospel story is more of mythology than reality..

Too bad, no religious person(I Used to be one) will read extensively to even understand what you just wrote here. Religion suggests to you that you have THE TRUTH.

Therefore it closes the door for further inquiry and closes your mind. After all you the truth, so what else so you seek.

Argument is supposed to be for progress, not for win or lose. But not for the religious, because he already have THE TRUTH.

AND EACH RELIGION SAYS THEIR TRUTH IS THE ONLY TRUTH....SO FUNNY.

You show who you are and fools never fail to advertise their foolishness!

And the funny thing is that you don't see that you are one.

Remove your tree of foolishness then maybe your thinkings would be good and accurate.

All this insult grin, just because someone posted what you don't agree with. It's hard to imagine. Even I though internet now makes it so hard to see who have grown and who just happen to have a phone. I forgive you.

This is so revealing though ....it reveals how dangerous monotheistic religion can be. No wonder people kill because of it.

In monotheistic religion, the intensity of your convictions make you believe that you have the monopoly of the truth. And anyone that don't agree with that or don't say it like you want must be a fool.

Religion is the greatest enemy of man.

Despite your insults, I will never fail to educate you guys perhaps many of you will awaken in your humanities.

Like I said before, just keep living, I still have hope for your kind, you will be fine.

Wrong! I disagree with some threads here and i understand their errors and I always come to show them that they are wrong. Which is what I have done with you.

And the first part of your errors is always invalid arguments via making invalid and unreasonable connections eg like you said "
God is the greatest dictator if you accept the fiction that he created the world and also created mankind.

Then there is no question of sin or virtue, no question of sinners and saints."

That is a Stupid connection to make like saying "Buhari is a dictator then therefore, no one should be imprisoned or praised". grin

Only a madman thinks and speaks this way grin, and you will look stupid telling everyone to think like you. cheesy

That is what I am bringing to your attention! grin

Now I am certain you are a religious fanatic. No different from brain washed Moslem. You stay and decide who to correct, and straighten.

Internet and phone can be so abused.
I suppose you are Christian. You disgrace your God my friend.
You suppose to represent him? You came to defend his existence, yet You prove him dead.
