Well, hope someone hasn't started a similar thread (cuz I searched and found none)

Do you guys (or girls) feel bad or even regret it sometimes when you look back and see you missed so many opportunities to talk to someone you might have been interested in because you were either shy, in a situation or from just having an empty brain. (by empty brain, meaning you couldn't think straight).

I type this now cuz I was bored and decided to chill at the pool when a couple of spanish guys and girls came over. One cute girl was swimming with me and I knew I should have taken the chance but then you can never tell if that dude is her boyfriend or her brother's friend etc. and then you start trouble by talking to her. So I said my hi and my cute smile smiley and let it be.

Now, I'm thinking of what could have been. Am I alone? Cuz I think this happens a lot.

Nope, I have no regrets on missing out on an opportunity, as the saying goes, do what you gotta now, tomorrow maybe too late.

There was a day I was traveling to Jos. I was a very shy guy then. I sat close to this beauty that seem to be out of this world. The journey lasted 12hr and I couldn't say more than one word "hello". It was hell throughout the journey. The lady was uncomfortable, probably wishing I would at least start a conversation. I never did.

It turn out we are heading same way. We met a month after the 'first contact' but still, I was busy composing 'grammar' which I could use! She quietly walked away when my mouth couldn't say a word.

A year after the incidence, my friend said she was angry at me for 'disappointing' her. She kept talking about me and wish I had proposed. I later found out that she is a very nice lady any man would be proud of.

Regret? Yes, I regretted not befriending her, at least. That was years ago. I was shy then so it's gone. Sincerely, however, whenever I look back, I just laugh. I don't regret anything again. I got ten fold compensation for my timidity. I am a happy man, now and forever.

most guys would definitely have more female-associated experiences. what else did you expect?  grin

i remember getting on the elevator with a chic sometime ago and i was completely tongue tied, she kept staring and shifting from foot to foot. by the time i summoned up courage to open my mouth she was already heading out, she smiled, waved and was gone.  sad

So do ladies have this problem too, or is it just a guy thing?

Mehn this thing happened to me not too long ago but my case was that of empty brain as i many things bothering my head. The lady said something like " if you want to meet me you know where to find me" wink.It was in a bar setting and she worked there but i did not live in that town so all i had to do was ask her name and get her number but my mind was somewhere else that i did not even decode what she meant by that .

It was later that night that i started reflecting on what she said to me and i nearly went back to that bar.

@ poster have you ever looked at chances you took but failed in. Does this make you think that maybe the missed chances may have turned out like the failed attempts??
