Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), has responded to a comment by Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in which the latter criticised the LP.

“Think about your children and vote accordingly so you can see the future. Come out en masse. Don’t mind PDP and other mushroom parties — parties like Labour; they will labour till they die. God will not make you labourers,” he had said.
Speaking on Wednesday at a rally organised by the LP in Osun, Obi said such a comment by the APC presidential candidate comes from a place of hatred, but the LP will respond with love.
“I listened to our national chairman when he said that somebody said that they can labour till death. When they they talk like that, when they show you hatred, Labour Party will show them love. There is dignity in labour,” he said.
Obi, who urged the residents of Osun to vote for Yusuf Lasun, the LP’s governorship candidate, said the party’s focus is on ensuring a better welfare for citizens.
“Vote for Labour Party so that your children can have jobs. Vote for people that will work for you,” he said.
“We want to change Nigeria and the only way we can change Nigeria is to remove all these people who have put Nigeria where it is for the past 23 years. This is time for them to go.
“They are owing salaries, pensions; and those that are working hard are not been paid. But this will stop once you vote Labour Party on Saturday.
“Vote for Labour Party; vote for the future of your children. Vote for the candidate that will be committed to better Osun state.
“We are going to introduce you to a governor who will be committed to better Osun state, and that is what we want.”
Also speaking, Julius Abure, the national chairman of the party, said the people should not sell their votes.
“I want to beg you, no matter the temptation of the money they might want to give you, do not sell your future,” he said.
“The reason we had been in trouble over the years is because when they give us part of the money they stole from us, we will still vote for them.
“If you can resist the temptation of not collecting the money, do not take it, but if you cannot resist the temptation, take the money and vote against them.”

Eeyah. HE Obi is ignorant of what Asiwaju meant and how powerful the message is. Obi gave a literal interpretation to the manner Asiwaju Tinubu used the word labour.
This response shows that he did not understand wink

Labourer as used by Asiwaju was in a derogatory term and that was why he carefully avoided using the word labour until after the word labourer but HE Obi is replying to the word labour, not labourer that Asiwaju used for emphasis.
Obi missed the pun which means one who is accursed to work and never reap the sweat of his labour. Nobody wants to keep such company. It is different from labour as a virtue. Labouring in vain due to curses is not a virtue and therefore regarded as badluck in Yoruba. You stay far from such individual. It is the message those APC guys at the massive rally will take home as the symbol of LP and warning to steer away from LP.

This was why I said that despite spending most of his adult life in the SW, Obi, unlike Igbos like Dr Akabueze, Engnr Igbokwe etc, did not integrate himself into the Yoruba and does not even understand Yoruba. It is that lack of vision and his ignorance of Yoruba language that is portrayed in this his remark.

More like Asiwaju refered to stone as a verb while Obi thinks he meant stone as a noun.

This is a lessson to others. Where ever you stay, integrate and learn the local dialect. This response portrays ignorance of the context Asiwaju used the word "labourer".

Tinubu as I dey suffer like this owing to the fact that my parents are not rich and opportune like you. I believe my labour and hardwork will pay someday even though the future isn't certain. Even if I die in it, it is a path I have chosen other than robbing off innocent people. At least I will find everlasting peace because it was a conscious decision I personally took.

A President aspirant can still get 22m Votes without winning in the North West this happened in 2011" ~ Fastweet

So, Look at the map below, and check out those states coloured green, those were the states won by Goodluck in 2011, he didn't win in those strong northern states course blue, yet he won the election and still got 22 million votes, losing woefully in States like Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Sokoto, Yobe, Zamfara

I am revealing this secret so we can all understand that no region has any monopoly on votes...A surprise might just happen in 2023. Maybe this is the statistics Peter Obi & Datti Baba-Ahmed are looking at

Don't allow anyone fool you 2023 election is very much open.

4 factors have further opened the race.

1. The new electoral act makes it more difficult to rig the election.

2. INEC now has over 100 million registered voters. Nigeria since 1999 has never recorded 50 million people come out to vote in any election.

Meaning there are over 50million voters who have either been averse or cared less. Today, hunger and poverty is resetting brains. Those people might choose to vote now.

3. Voter awareness and campaign for PVC collection is at all time high.

4. The Northern voter is left with 4 choices. Vote Tinubu For APC, Vote Atiku for PDP, vote
Kwankwaso for NNPP or vote Yusuf Datti Ahmed. The Northern vote is clearly split.

Let's analyse objectively.

What do you think?

We want to change Nigeria and the only way we can change Nigeria is to remove all these people who have put Nigeria where it is for the past 23 years.

Which past 16 years was with PDP, his original party. Now he has the guts to spit out trash. God forgive you.
Well, if LP comes second in Osun guber I'd delete this account.

There is Dignity in labour indeed.

With the disastrous performance of APC Regime in every aspect.

Am still wondering what basis will APC be campaigning for reelection?

is it the worsened insecurity, economy failure, Mass poverty, ASUU strike, incessant fuel scarcity, nepotism, unpaid wages indeed etc?

i cannot imagine how a man will fail woefully in all his exams and still confidently seek promotion to the next level.

Nigerians have an important decision to make in 2023.

All you know best to do is insult. You have been insulting since 2015, even insult those old enough to be your grandfather, yet you have neither supported anyone who won the Presidency nor have you been redeemed of your hatred and bigotry for everyone not Igbo or from your religion.

It is a bad place to be in life; always losing, bitter and bigoted.
Definitely, you lot are the labourers Asiwaju counselled the people to avoid in life if anyone wants to make progress.

You can make your point without insulting those who know you too well to advice you against taking this your usual route of hatred and bigotry that always end in failure.
